I ordered mine direct from Hurst for $189.99 last Friday. UPS is having weather problems getting it from Fresno, CA. to Tacoma, WA. ????? So how do you like it thehunteroo? Any problems? What other site?

you sir are the reason I ordered one. Yes it was $199.00 for a shift handle/knob but looks so cool!

Maye I have no business posting in this thread since I drive a MT. But I think this shifter belongs on an older type car. Maybe an old (dare I say) Camaro:frusty: or Trams Am:frusty: or a Foxbody Mustang.:shrug: It is a nice shifter but I think its to "rugged" looking (cant find a better word right now) for a "refined" looking S550.

Don't hate me guys, its just my opinion.....:cheers:

Hurst is still the choice and has been for years in performance cars.. You must be new to the hobby. Below is a Hurst shifter in my 04 Mach 1 and yes my Trans Am came with one along with my 66 GTO from the factory.

My first Mustang.... and loving it. Hurst maybe the choice, and I did say I may have no business posting in this thread.;)

But what you are showing is not what I was talking about. In my post , I did say "this shifter". I did not in any way reference Hurst in general terms. And I stand by what I said, I don't think that particular shift handle suits the aesthetics of the S550.:shrug:

But, again, that's my opinion..:thumbsup:

Nope, I agree with you.

To my eye, it looks out of place in the S550 interior. I even went to their website to get a better look a different angles. I think the general pistol grip concept is cool but I think the look needs to be updated to integrate a bit better.

I agree, that handle is not my taste, but hey, it's his car and if he likes it........

Maybe this Hurst shifter is more to your liking?

Pistol grip shifters were first made available for the 1970 year Mopar 4-speed cars.

From a functional perspective, the grip shape may facilitate a more precise gear change when shifting a manual transmission.

Aesthetically however, IMHO...the overall appearance of this Hurst unit in the S550 console just doesn't work.
I believe it would be much better suited for use in something like the new Ranger or Bronco.
