So it appears that there's HUD after all. Well at least partially. This probably explains the early rumors and the cutouts on the driver's side dash.

From the http://www.cotusb.ford.com/ site:

Activate the available adaptive cruise control and it functions just like normal cruise control—with one exception. When adaptive cruise control sensors detect traffic slowing immediately ahead of you, your vehicle also slows down, based on your preset distance. When its sensors detect traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the set speed. Forward collision warning with brake support will alert you if it senses a potential collision with the car in front of you. A “heads-up” display, which simulates brake lights, flashes on the windshield. If you don’t react in time, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you brake. When activated, rain-sensing wipers use an advanced optical sensor to detect the intensity of rain and/or snowfall to adjust wiper speed. They automatically go on when moisture is sensed.
*Available on EcoBoost® Premium and GT Premium models.

My wife's Explorer had that. It's a warning for when it senses a possible collision.

Based on that demonstration, I'm not really disappointed then that the the LE doesn't come with ACC. Doesn't look like something I'd use very often, if at all.

Yea I thought about getting the adaptive but I do fine with normal cruise control. Trying to keep the cost and weight down if I can.

I have the HUD with speedo, tach, nav, and radio info in my Denali. It is great for playing name that tune, only the driver sees the windshield display. It would be nice in the Mustang, after getting used to it, it is hard not having it when driving my Mustang.

I think I'd use it a lot, especially in traffic like the video. 2 lane highway, traffic speed varies 10-15 mph, so you're always speeding up, slowing down. The AC allows you to set it with a decent gap (not the "sport" gap like he was showing) and then you just let it cruise. Makes the drive a lot more relaxing.
