A while back some of you may remember my post about a local tire company scratching one of my HP wheels. Everything is going good, maybe!!. They replaced the wheel and TPMS sensor, wheel came in a FP box and when we/I opened it to confirm it was the correct wheel I said it looked dark. He told me it was a new wheel from ford, it was hard to tell with it sitting in the box in their shop and I didn’t have the other wheel with me to compare. When I brought the original damaged wheel back for them to swap I again told him, man that looks darker than what I have, he again said it was a new wheel from ford. Fast forward to where I’m at now, it is by all means darker. I spoke with the manager showing him a couple pictures and he agreed it’s darker, the store manager spoke to the local dealer who asked him to look at it in person & take some pictures. I invited him to my house to observe for himself and take a few pictures and again he agreed how much darker it was than the other wheels. I expect to hear back from the tire store manager any day. Also I did ask the manager if there was a chance they were sent a reconditioned wheel, he said no that ford & dealers don’t sell reconditioned wheels 🤷🏻‍♂️

So I guess I do have a question associated in my rambling, has anyone else notice all their wheels not matching in color ?

I had this same scenario of replacing a wheel happen to me when I had a complete replacement set purchased, and then chromed. I had one damaged wheel that I replaced with a new one, thus running three wheels that originally came on the car, and the new one. The damaged one and three new ones were chromed.

They all matched and I'm currently running the new one with the three factory ones on the car right this moment.

This was all done at 54 miles, so could it perhaps be fading depending on your miles and usage? Where was the wheel sourced? Additionally, you know you can get a set of four through FP for the price of one from Ford and they're the exact same aside from the center cap...

On my PP2, the rear wheels were slightly darker and smoother finished than the fronts. Came from the factory that way.

I had 1254 miles, garage kept and fair weather driving when this happened and the original wheels look the same as when I bought it. The new wheel came from a local ford dealer and they supposedly got it directly from ford. Having a new wheel other than how the car was delivered doesn’t bother me, I just expect the color to match

Hmmm, my new one is just the opposite on the finish, feels slightly rougher in areas so that and the color made me think it could be a refurbished wheel 🤷🏻‍♂️
