It seems most hp gains go hand in hand with a tune, is there any thing to be had (hp gain) without a tune?

100 octane unleaded is the quickest. Anything else I'd get a tune to ensure a/f ratio remains correct.

Well I/H/E would net something. H/E would not require a tune. Im curious im not tuning my engine while its under warranty

Someone posted that headers made his car run lean without a tune.

Interesting. But I can see no reason that would be true. The ECU should be able to handle any minor mod with its fuel trims

Got a link I didnt see that post

Edit* I have read STIs need a tune for every mod allegedly not sure why

also in the same boat of not tuning while under warranty, just trying to figure out if I'm missing something with possible gains elsewhere

I have read about a dyno comparison 91 vs 98 octane on the gt 350 and the results were very encouraging +- 20whp.

Question, is it safe to run 98 or 100 octane fuel without a tune, thinking of 3-4 fuel tanks a year?

Run any 91+ unleaded gas you want. Well technically e10 or less for warranty reasons. Car is pulling timing even with the 93, so it's all in the OEM tuning if it gives you more power.

With a tune you can run e85 if you want as the hardware is there, just not the tuning.
