How to open door with dead battery?

anyone know how to do this? I see a key slot in the bottom of the door handle but the key doesn’t seem to fit. Any help would be appreciated

That should be how, to make sure you took the key out of the fob, right? And popped the cover off the door handle too?

The slot is there to pop the cover off. Then the key will fit in the cylinder it exposes.

Yes there is a physical key in your key fob. And the handle has a cover that pops off to reveal a regular key slot

Interestingly enough this pop-off cover is not in the owners manual... at least on a 2016 owners manual.

Interestingly enough this pop-off cover is not in the owners manual... at least on a 2016 owners manual.
Hmmmmm..... it's covered on page 44 in my 2016 owners manual.......

Same here (below) but manufacturers often revise manuals, so could be missing from an earlier/later one if @CycloneRy didn't miss it in the 2016 manual he has. His profile says he has a 2018, so not sure why he's referring to a 2016 manual unless to help out.

Mostly venting frustrations with the manual as I went through the exact situation as OP.

I found it, pg 44 under Remotes. My mistake was thinking 'How do I access the lock barrels on this car?' and then 'mistakenly' checking out the section Locks.

Technical writing is hard work (I work in mfg), but this manual is crap. I also have beef with the Home Link Transmitter instructions but that's entirely off topic.
