Well, this post and your previous post about swapping from base seats to premium seats have been huge resource for me to find.

I am currently in the process of installing these premium seats into my 1968 Mustang and came across the same issue as you. I was able to supply 12v to the passenger seat and had all the motion controls work, but when I supplied the same to the driver's seat, I had no motion, only lumbar. I recognized I had the memory unit and figured I was missing the door components. I will be giving my seat the treatment you did to bypass that whole system and have it work as a standalone.

Since the seats have the heat/cooling, I figure I might as well make them work too. Am I correct in understanding that some of these cars came with physical switches (bezel, I think you referred to it as) and others had the control through the radio display?

I plan on having physical switches on a center console. I am not sure if I am better off bypassing the H/C module and just having the ability to go full on/full off for either heat/cooling, or if I need to toy with having the H/C module for functionality.

Any input would be appreciated.

If you add hard on/off switches, the only thing I would double check before testing 12v on each function (blower/heating pad), is checking what voltage goes to these function coming from the h/c module. Curious if it is 12v or something else. I will check mine and update.
Also be aware bypassing the module will cancel an overheating sensor in each seat, just to be aware of.
I LIKE the idea though.

MSCAN is mid-speed CAN-BUS in Ford vehicles used to interconnect body and infotainment control units. It is definitely not 12v. In other words, brain signals.
If you are willing to invest in a 8" screen/module and radio unit, you may be able to use that network to command switch on/off like stock cars. Otherwise your best option is to use rocker switches and such to supply power directly to the heating pads/blower (cooling) motor. Like you said, full speed/heating.

How do cars without the larger screen control the seat heat/cooling? Just those bezel switches, or do they still integrate with the radio?

I have never seen a base car with small screen that has h/c seats. The bigger screen and h/c seats are part of the premium package.
It definitely looks nice with these seats. I would do the same if I had your car too.

Ahh, understood. Well if you do happen to be under your seats again for some reason and can check the output voltage to the fans and heating pads, that would be much appreciated.

New member to the site here, although I have been following this thread for a while. I think this is going to be very helpful when I get around to my seat swap in the near future when my car gets back from the paint shop.
I have a set of 2017 leather power seats that I’m no sure which seats they are.And the plan is to install in my 67 Camaro ( I know, don’t tell my Chevy friends about this, I’ll just let them see how nice they are first then I’ll tell them they are from a Mustang)
I don’t know if they are premium or base seats or if they are memory seats. I was hopeful someone could help me understand what seats I have then I believe the information in this thread will be easier for me to apply to my application.

Your seats are heated/cooled but not memory. The module under the passenger seat is the h/c module. The memory module which would be under the driver seat is missing, so you dont have memory.
Curious how that will work out for you on Camaro. But by theory you should be able to make it move. You would NOT be able to enable h/c though.

Hey guys awesome info here, just wanted to say thanks for listing everything and i have a few questions i hoped you could help with. Similar to delox i am putting 2015 heated/cooled mustang seats in my 1970 firebird... had to modify my floorboard to fit them.

Regardless i was wanting some help better understanding the wiring.
1. Are u guys making ur own complete wire harness or using the existing on in your cars and where can i find a complete wire harness?
2. Is it possible for me to use just rocker switches for the heated/cooled?
3. If i can’t use rocker switches then I’d have to use the stock display panel switches... is it possible to remove and keep just those switches from the display panel?

Mostly using the existing harness, but for your project, I would cut the original seat connector and run individual connectors for the wires you need.m i.e power to make it move.
It is not proofed yet the voltage supplied to the heated/cooled motors/pad are 12v. Someone needs to measure it. I just didn't get a chance to do that. If it is 12V, rocker switches should be fine I imagine.
The stock controls are part of the display bezel. You can't use just the buttons, you will have to use the entire bezel, which means, the bezel needs to be connected but you don't have the bezel connector. Rocker witches would be your best bet.
Very interesting project, worth trying.

Has anyone had a chance to check the resistance of the wires? If not then how do i do this myself? I haven’t started wiring yet but want to have all my ducks in a row before i ask more questions ha
