I reckon you're right.

Ford were pushing the 17's and almost denied 18's existed. Now it's all about 19's. MY18 is the year that never was.
Probably will be the same for MY19 Ford have overcooked the prices now

I think MY19 will be higher as Ford are now advertising them unlike the MY18 which never existed but time will tell

According to Trust Ford they have 57 S550.1 Mustangs left to sell. Was over 300 a couple of months ago, so looks like the 0% finance offers have worked!

I get the impression there is still a lot of pent up demand for 'stangs just need to be at a slightly lower price point for some. I think the higher price of the 18s will also help the 17s sell.

Even with the 18's and 19's touching 50k for a fully optioned one, it is still miles cheaper than any other brand new from factory 5.0+ Litre V8 with 450 (ish) bhp on the market.

Yes granted they have been cheaper in the past, and they were a massive bargain then, but even now they are still a huge bargain compared to anything remotely close to similar spec, when you include grin factor when driving and rarity, which to be fair is almost impossible to match in many ways.

Look at Gibbo, he has gone to a Jag F-Type SVR at ÂŁ80+k second hand, (they are ÂŁ120k + brand new) to get similar (ok maybe slightly more) grin factor when driving.

I think Ford still have about 30 17’s to sell. People are ordering 19’s now, so MY18 was a very short year.

I’ve not seen a my18 on the road yet. And with optioned examples between £45-£50k I can see why. That sort of money puts it head to head with the very last bmw 650i’s which are available with 4 doors if you want. With all the general quality issues and the new my18 issues, my money would be on the bmw with proper dealer support and better build quality. The my18 isn’t special enough to attract many well healed customers willing to take a step back on quality. At 30-35k and 0% the my17 was perfectly targeted

The discount and 0% was perfect targeting... to sell the over-ordered MY17's Ford had in stock. Sure, the MY18/19 are more expensive, but this is hardly surprising considering the collapse of the pound since the referendum and the shambles that has followed. The BMW 650i is hardly a competitor for the Mustang GT. Nearest European competitor is probably the Audi RS5 which starts at nearly ÂŁ62k plus options. The Mustang is still great value for money, particularly with the many improvements in the new MY18.

A red GT is about ÂŁ41,000 on the road. That's with all the great new stuff included. I'd pay the extra just for the fantastic self levelling LED headlights alone. And to mention the active exhaust would just be rubbing it in!
And the great A10 trans or the improved 6 speed,... and the lovely digital dash. What's not to like?
