So if I decide after the 2018 is revealed that I want to factory order a 2017, how long will I be able to do that before they stop making them?

If they reveal the 2018 at the january auto shows then you'll be able to order a 17 no problem. I saw people last year ordering 16's well into the spring.

I was wondering the same thing. Unless the 2018 is mind blowing, I will more than happy with a 17.

I'm in the same boat, want to get a mustang and was thinking MY17, but going to hold out till the MY18 full reveal. From what i've seen so far, it's slightly enticing, but any of the potential new options seem to put the car above any price range i would be looking at.

I'm not sure what to do. I'm thinking a couple things:

- Once the 2018 is revealed, might be able to negotiate a better deal on a 2017, although don't know if that applies to a factory order?

- However, I'm hoping that perhaps Ford will quietly make some changes to the production/manufacturing of the 2018 to fix the drivetrain vibration issue. Is that a possibility?

I don't know if you'd be able to really negotiate a lower deal, but will think there will be more incentives.

And anything is possible . Although I've been told the vibration thing is not ask that common... But at the same time, that doesn't when it's happening to you.

Well you won't get a distress sale price for an order like you may with the least desirable leftovers but many dealers will give you the same or better deal for an order than something on the lot. A special order is a sure sale and they won't have to pay financing like they do for cars sitting on the lot. Salespeople won't like an order as much as the dealer does. I almost always special order since I usually don't want a car that's a model year old and don't want a car that's been beat on in test drives or by dealer washing.

On the opposite side, typically when is the new model year available for order?
