Supposedly only customer orders are being booked, right? Well one dealer near me has 2 (FJG, Orange) and 5 more on the way. For dealer inventory. How? They put their floor managers' names on them.

Im sure they use salesmen names to get them all then jack the ADMs on.
personally after talking to a sheehy salesmen couple years ago i wont buy a car from them. Had a $5k ADm on a mustang and i mentioned i wouldnt buy it and he said “some sucker will come in and pay it”
Sorry we are not “suckers”....
Never been back since.

Perhaps Zach can answer this but wasn’t there a window open for dealer orders initially? For some reason I remember that changing in February to only allow customers orders. Before that dealers could place orders without buyers lined up

Ford probably doesn't give a crap if Mach1s are customer or dealer orders; they just want to sell as many as possible. So if they even said only customer orders, it was with a 'wink' :), meaning just a marketing ploy. It's not a limited edition (just like the Bullitt), so they'll make as many as they can sell. Hopefully Ford won't make the same mistake as with the Bullitt the first year, making waaaay more than they should have. But they will make as many as they can sell without oversupply IMO.

Now to the guessing game. There were roughly 8K 2019 Bullitts made, and 3,600 2020 Bullitts made. If Ford wants to get production right with the Mach1, it should make about 4K max each of the 2 years IMO. What say you? :)

artificially limiting supply is not the way to maximize sales. You can't have both. My guess is the 'natural' demand for a Mach1 is about 5000 units. but that's a Pulled-it-Out-My-Ass guess. We're talking Shelby prices and the "spechul" crowd already satisfied their lust on the GT350 and Bullitt.

yes, but this Sheehy dealer is well aware of the 'customer only' restrictions in place and told me how they were getting around it. Hence the post.

By far the biggest douchebags ever. I'd still love to bitch slap the guy who said he'd call me back in 15 minutes on a PP2 last May. Guess his watch is slow cause he hasn't called yet.
