I am trying to make the decision between the Paxton and Procharger and I am curious how many Paxton users have issues with hood clearance. I don't really like the idea of putting washers on the latch to make the hood shut. That is essentially changing the height of the hood and might look funny.

My hood closes just fine with no washers.

Actually putting washers on the hood latch lined up my hood better. Before there was a slight dip in the center line that didn't line up with the bumper, but now is perfectly even. Plus I don't have to slam my hood to get it to latch now.. So win win for me at least..

I appreciate all the feedback and information I can get. I am torn between the Paxton, Procharger and Whipple. I like the ease on install for the procharger and the inlet that draws air from the fender. I like the way the whipple looks. and I like the cost of the Paxton. My goal will eventually be a full weight GT that runs 9s in the 1/4. My car is currently a Manual but I will eventually convert to automatic. I am also trying to determine which one makes more power at similar levels of boost but it is very difficult to tell because there are so many variables involved.

there are, we offer and install all the combos.

all the systems have their advantage,

the paxton is hands down the best bang for the buck, it's hard to beat what you get and the growing potential for the $$, it is an 8 second capable blower for not alot of $$

although probably the longest of the 3 to install, not more than a couple hours more

the procharger is one of the easiest to install, and if you do a stage 2 with a d1 upgrade, very capable blower and similar power to a 2200, iats tend to be slightly higher, but not by much

the whipple is the easiest of the pds to install, no cutting or grinding, it's a very nice piece and the 2.9 is very capable as well, another 8 second potential, with the right combo.

any of these can make more than enough power to exceed what your shortblock can handle.

your always welcome to call and discuss your goals and we'll try to help you make the right decision, (there really isn't a wrong one)

i'm available 8 to 10 7 days a week to answer your questions

I appreciate the advice and I am certainly planning to reach out to you when I get ready to purchase. Are you saying the IAT of the PAXTON is lower thankthe Procharger? I would expect the procharger to be better since it pulls air from the fender.

at oem boost levels, not a big difference, maybe 5 degrees, at higher boost levels a little more.

not so much from where the system draws the air, as the head unit i think generating the heat,

the stage 2 procharger, and paxton both have really good intercoolers, nothing to be of concern with either setup

Curious on oil changes for the centri types. I think I read that they need routine oil changes, if so, is either of them easier than the other? Is that it as far as preventative maintenance?

Do you run the factory belt tensioner with the 6rib Paxton or Procharger? If not are the spring loaded or manual?

on the 2200sl or any prochargers, they are self contained, change with every oil change, pretty simple

with the hd gear case vortech, they feed from factory oil, 0 maintenance

you use the oem tensioner on all paxton vortech, and 2015+ procharger ho kits.

i am a big fan of this setup, 0 more stress on the crank than an n/a setup

I work the same hours - 8-6 at my paying job, 6 to 7 working the 3.73 gears through my commute, and 7-10 working to convince myself to exercise. By 10PM it's just too late to exercise... dark outside, scary.

I agree completely as long as there are no belt slippage issues with the 6 rib setup.
