O.k. stock 2015 intake weighs 16.6lbs with no fuel rail or throttlebody. Holley weighs 9.8 with no rails or TB.

So it is a weight saving mod as well. Lol

Think I just decided on the IM I want.

This is why I haven't pulled the trigger on the 350IM yet. Waiting for a few people to show some results, and I will be all in.

with a metal intake, are you worried about heat transfer?

With constant airflow across the runners it should not be an issue. The exterior will get hot, but it should not cause any problem with the intake air temps. If anything it will be negligible and very much negated by the gains.

The good thing about aluminum is it's convective properties...so while it may transfer heat while sitting still, the cooler air passing into it during driving will offset the underhood heat. It won't hold as much heat as the plastic intake mani does.

I am Haole. No spam here.:D:D

394.00 seems to be excessive since you already have the cross over and fuel rails. I am fortunate as I had all the pieces but I would imagine my list is under 100.00,
I wish the manifold came without rails or used a different style rail, like our offering. I don't like several things about the Holley rail kit that is included. Uses NPT threads (prone to leaking) and uses thin hold downs to secure the rails on top of the injectors. I'm sure N/A, fuel pressure won't be an issue, but those brackets can bend causing the rail to lift off of the top of the injector when you really start pushing pressure with any forced induction in a return style fuel system.

Remember I am boosted. Results will be different.

I guess we will see. Always fixable though tapping and drilling for some mounts. I build a lot of stuff so most people will not want to do that.

Nope. The results will be the same. Thermal dynamics is thermal dynamics. You are confusing heat soak from the air being compressed with the convective properties of the intake material. The intake will not cause you to heat soak any more than anything else.

I was talking about velocity. Not heat.
Crap.. Sorry. I was talking about heat a post earlier and thought you were referring to that. Yes. Not sure on velocity. I thing that the 350 im will carry V better, just by the design. I would need to see the internal area of the sniper to make a judgment on that, and even then it would just be an educated guess. Fluid dynamics is another ball of wax, or should I say non newtonian fluid.

One thing the Holley has going for it is the massive gap between motor and the plenum. Lots of radiant space to shed heat.

you think there would be any gains on polishing the runners on this manifold
