Well, has anyone up the redline as of yet? Based on the last platform we should be able to benefit from a nice stable 7.5k RPM line or maybe even 7.8k.

I think those with tunes have. I know when I get my tune, I look to bump it up to 7.5K.

I'm curious, the hand held tuners have the capabilities for that? I used to tune my DSM with direct tune software, I had more freedom...

Higher rpm is not a benefit with this manifold. Look at every dyno we see and at 6800-7000 it drops off. With a power adder It is useful. You can easily raise it with a tuner.

Higher redline allows 3.73 geared cars to finish the 1/4 mile in 4th gear.

That's partly why I'd like the higher redline. I find it a world of drama just to get to 80.

Good point. For best ET I would shift at 6800 and ride 4th out.

Power drops around 6500/6800 with stock intake. No need to go further
Yup, motor only makes power up to 6500 rpm...no point spinning it to 7500 rpm if there's no power there. Just making noise at that point.

Yes the main reason for me. I'm on 3.55 and still riding out the last 100' now that I'm more or less dialed-in when running slicks but with street tires hitting red line right at the line.

Wasn,t their also something mentioned about the oil pump gear maybe having problems if going over 72 hundred rpms?

It isn't simply RPM related as there are many guys running 7,500-7,800rpm on the stock pump. Most failures that I've seen had big power as well from boost.
