Hi All
my car has a conditions for about 4 years where one week it will run smooth and have great power, then suddenly it will run a little off. Surges a little and the exhaust sounds a little off.
no error codes and I have checked absolutely everything except the low and high pressure fuel pumps…..
whenever I start the car from cold the high pressure pump solenoid rattles and clicks super loud like crazy for about 30 seconds before it suddenly stops.
when the car is running bad it has more engine noise and as I accelerate I can hear the HPFP solenoid clicking between 2-3000 rpm.
my question is can these parts be intermittent and can they not throw a code?.
I’m guessing the fuel deliver gets altered by the ecm to compensate and not through a code.
Also noticed that the week the car runs great LTFTs are at 0% perfect.
when running bad they start going rich to about 10-15% which I’m guessing is the ecu compensating.
Any ideas ??
thanks
