Aren't the factory cats much less restrictive than those of ten or more years ago. I remember the old v8 camaro / firebirds of the early 80's. Cut off the cats and burn rubber now. Those really choked the hell out of the car back then.

Are there any manufacturers making high flow cats for s550s? In specific any to fit v6 models?
I know bbk has a pair of high flow cats onto an h pipe. But I think it might be meant to be used with longtube headers, but check out bbk website

Well I had x pipe and roush axle backs, keep in mind I have bbk LT headers not just high flows, and power gain I don't know would need to dyno it, anything under 3k I have hesitation and its jumpy because I need more intake air but its ridiculous loud. but I have had a lot of people say it sounds good.

If I did it again I would go with shorty I would've saved so much money and hassle BBk wasn't the most intelligent or helpful people by far.

How does it compare to no cats?

I was going to go catless, catless will make it louder but it will sound like crap I was so much happier with high flows because mine was so loud with them that I would've been un happy with straight. Its way cheaper to straight it but it will not sound good at all.

Anyone know what the length & diameter of the factory GT cats are ?
I don't have a floor Jack & the car sits too low to crawl under to measure.
