I've never had a car with HID's before and I have to say I'm not a fan. That sharp demarcation line between light and no-light is REALLY distracting at night, especially when it bounces off of Jersey barriers or retaining walls on the highway and I instinctually think there's a car coming at me.

I'd really rather go back to halogens to be honest.
Quit trolling.

Knowing a little, well a lot, about photography, that photo lacks P/S enhancement. The color temps are all over the place with the various lighting situations which makes this a difficult post process without using P/S, the chroma is cranked way too high to enhance the look of the car (As mentioned the oompa-loompa skin tones) and most likely since they didn't know how to use photoshop to correct areas of the photo instead of blasting everything for the car to look good, they probably didn't do it with a calibrated monitor. (and I bet everyone reading/seeing this has an image that is a little different than the other guy due to monitor calibration)
And keep in mind that the person shooting this image probably knows nothing about how the headlights are supposed to look since this was the first one I had ever seen with headlights burning, and dialed in post production that "looked good" enough to him/her.
I will add, it was good enough to sell me one!!

Jimmy also asked that his seat belts be removed along with adding halogen bulbs and the dimmer switch on the floor.

Nothing to do with HID - everything to do with reflector design.

Physics - learn it, live it, love it.

Not trolling, dude. That light-demarcation line, rather than gentle diffusing, is really bothersome to me. And there have been two times -- both in the same spot, going westbound on the BQE right where it passes under the Brooklyn Bridge -- where I mistook the light bouncing off the retaining wall to my left for the headlights of a car coming at me from my right, and almost crashed.

Maybe you should pay more attention when you drive:thumbsup:

My guess is: These are stock HID lights, they appear cooler, more blue because the camera is set to the correct white balance for fluorescent or incandescant lights, which are generally between 2800K and 4000K, so throw in a 5000K light and it will look more blue.
