What’s up y’all…So recently I’ve been looking to buy some 18x8 OEM Foundry Wheels to have laying around as an extra set since I sold my PP1 wheels a couple months ago when I went aftermarket… basically these Foundry “Rims” need tires and I’m curious as to what I can put on them? I know from factory they come 235/50/18 but something about the wheel being 235 wide all around doesn’t sit right with me…(and I KNOW the car can function perfectly with it’s original oem tire setup, but personally I just want a beefier look and feel all around)…I googled what’s the widest tire I can put on a 18x8 rim and Google says a 245…glancing at some articles and threads someeee people say a 255 fits and works for them, but then again I wouldn’t know if going a number higher would compromise my safety and the car’s ride quality and eventually have the wheel slip out of the barrel because the tire is tooo wide for the rim :/

Better to get new wheels that way you can have proper offsets and it'll look 10x better. If these are just your winter beater set then what does the look matter lol

235 is skinny for sure (I have them on my foundry wheels for winter) but I wouldn’t go any wider on the 8” wheel. Just get a wider wheel if you want a wider tire. Plenty of good aftermarket options out there that won’t break the bank

Anything less than 275/40 in the rear is useless/dangerous on these cars. Shame on Ford for allowing these cars out of their factories with a fucking 235mm width on the rear. 430-480hp and you're putting 235s on the cars?!

You need a good 9.5" wide rim in the back. The front doesn't matter so much since it's just steering, but if it's too different than the rear, it will steer funny. And keep your rims light. I had staggered Boss 302S rims on my S197 GTs- they got really good traction because the rims were so heavy, but the steering input was really soft and "late" compared to my really light- but more narrow- SVT rims.
I have the Performance Pack/wider rims on my S550 and although they are wider, they are also nice and light. So the steering input and response is not compromised- weight is everything!
