Help with order process

I'm curious about the order process - maybe I'm misunderstanding something.

I thought (per the ordering guide here) that when you placed your order, you got a DORA which could be used to check COTUS on status (order number, dealer number, last name). I think next status change is being issued a VIN.

My dealer has sent me my order info and it includes a preview order number (#9898), that does not work in COTUS. When I asked about the DORA, he said the preview order is all I would have until I got a VIN.

Am I missing something? Is what he's saying accurate and the guide is not completely correct? Or am I misunderstanding what happens in which order?

COTUS doesn't work with 2016 vehicles. Show a picture of your "preview order" if you want a comment on it, but it sounds like you have everything you need.

Here it is before they submitted it. Is there another place besides COTUS I could/should check on status? I have tried the other tracking URLs I found, but they ask for the same info and it says invalid info.

I tried FordPerformance with a PM, but haven't heard back. Someone hooked me up with the Ford Performance 800 number and they were able to answer my questions. Sounds like the order guide here could use some updates and clarifications. :)

Dude! Priority 19??? Talk to your dealer about that. You shouldn't be below priority 10.

ForService can take 2 or 3 days to get back to your PMs. They are monitoring PMs and threads for various forums and it takes them time to look stuff up, so it simply takes time.

As far as the order preview, only you need is your dealer id. They should be able to tell you that.

I thought about calling the dealer about the priority, but the other GT350 guys are saying priority doesn't matter / apply for the Shelby cars. I may instead see if the regional rep can help.

I was quoting forum folks. In my experience they (not always, but usually) know more than dealers even about internal processes. ;)

COTUS is a tracking site that is still in a pilot phase and has not been rolled out for all regions or vehicle nameplates. It hasn’t worked for any 2016s. I am happy to track your order for you.
