Hello there, I am a user on a Camaro forum but I like the new mustang as well. I have been reading this forum for quite awhile when the new gen Camaro discussions began. I am new to the Camaro so I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon but the Mustang does interest me as a comfortable yet sporty car. I plan on either modding my SS over the next two years or just saving money to trade in for either a Mustang gt or sixth gen Camaro. That I guess is a little intro from where I come....

The reason I created this thread though was to compare the stock air intake of the GT with an aftermarket CAI. I am doing a physic relatedproject on CAI, and using the mustang as an example since most are very familiar with it. I'm trying to found out what kind of disadvantages there are with the stock air intake as I went to explain benefits of the CAI. Specifically can someone give semi-detailed overview of the stock air intake on the V8 model and why an aftermarket CAI is better from a performance perspective? I'm assuming people here are very familiar with the car parts of the Stang. Would be greatly appreciated.

I don't want to know if it makes more power. I am using physics equations to demonstrate that. More like what are the stock parts, filters, etc...and what the CAI aftermarket parts are. I might need some specs on the stock air intake I thought maybe I could get it here. I will be using the Steeda CAI(as that seems praised) as an comparison.

I want to compare what parts they use, how they're different and why CAI parts for this specific Steeda system do a better job of bringing more cool air.

Sounds like you need to give steeda a call/pm with questions regarding their intake. I can't help you with the gt intake part cause 4 banger problems.

Larger diameter aftermarket CAI tube with a tune to comp for added airflow is the basics, less restrictive than stock.

Larger MAF housing and intake tube along with high flow filter...basic physics.
