Hello everyone. I currently have a base 2018 Mustang GT. The car's stock tires aren't gripping too well. I am stuck on which tire size I want to go with. I can buy a pair of used performance pack wheels which have 275s in the rear or I can go aftermarket and have 305s in the rear. I want a tire that will provide grip, but not damage the half shafts or any other part of the car. I plan on putting michelin sport 4s tires on the car. Another question, are the half shafts upgraded in the performance pack mustangs? Thanks.

half shafts are not upgraded. if youre going with MPS4S you wont notice much of a traction difference between 275 and 305, its about looks and preference. but will be better than the pirellis

will there be a significant difference between the 235s and the 275s traction wise?

significant is strong word but in theory yes going to 275 is a good % increase. but you would really tell a big difference from the pirelli to the michelin. in my opinion after 275 width there is diminishing returns. but a wider tire does look cool and wide at lower pressure in theory gives more contact patch

I agree a wider tire looks cool. I think I will go with used performance pack wheels because its cheaper and provides good grip. Thank you

I vote for 305.
275 with Michelin Pilot 4S is not enough for rear grip and I spin rear tires all the time, but I have 3.73 gears and 6 speed manual
