Good to know that tires need not be swapped out. Seems like I read that summer tires have diminished grip when the ambient temperature is below 40 degrees. We have plenty of that for parts of days in December, January and February. Remember the February 2014 sub-20 degree temperatures? Also heard of summer compound tires cracking. (That might have been tire dealers wanting to drum up more revenue, though.)

I've never switched to winter tires on any of my cars. I've always ran summer tires year round.

Came from the dealer with it on. Not sure what they used.

Yeah I plan to eventually do full exhaust, cai, and a tune to start with.
Lol, same here... No need for winter tires this far south.

Check out my buddy over at LET in Houston. I'm running his dyno tune now, and love it.

When it's really cold out summer tires have a little less grip, nothing horrible, but as soon as they warm up its fine.
January is usually when I go to the track.

Thanks for the recommendation. Being my first ford I'm not familiar with where to go. Plenty of big name LS shops in Houston but only ford one I know of is PSI. I'll have to check them out. After a quick google search it looks like they are right by my work just past Dixie farm rd and 45

Yeah no need to swap tires. I usually run drag radials year round.

Yeah, I dealt with Eric (owner) a lot on my 3.5 eco f150. Great shop, and a very good tuner. I live in South La, but I go up to houston pretty often for work.
