That's reminded me. Lowering springs...

Before Ford offered the Eibach springs in a UK flavour, for £150. The next alternative was to import from the US for about double the price. Bargain @ £150

Highly recommended as a mod if not already complete, don't forget the spacers too!
And then set sat nav to avoid speed bumps! Ha ha

It's been a few years, struggling to remember - but I think I purchased an OEM deck lid from the states, then added a gloss black GT black badge to it. Fit was perfect.

I know of others though that have the MP concepts panel, and no issues as far as I'm aware.

Reminds me - the black GT badge I have has started to lose its gloss black paint, starting to peel off :( been on there a good 6 years though so can't complain!
I don't know if this helps but I found this genuine ford panel with black GT lettering in my searching last week. Forgive my ignorance but I assume decklid panels are the same for pre and post facelift?

They will deliver to the UK as well.

I did a decklid swap recently. Bought what was advertised as a genuine ford part on eBay but was a MP composite when it arrived. Ended up sticking with it and getting GT lettering to add myself. It looks good, although the panel does seem easier to scratch than the OEM one.

Thank you. From research I have done the face-lift (from 2018) has 8 lugs/clips at the top compared to 6 on the pre 2018 (non face-lift). Looking at the picture in the link, unfortunately it has 6 which would not fit mine, which is a shame.
I tried my local ford dealership and they were unable to help/get non UK OEM stock.
Thanks for your help 😊

Ah no worries. Yeah I just found this. Bizarre thing to change. Actually looks like the pre facelift has more not less.

That is very interesting. All the panels advertised for 2018 to 2023 (albeit after market) all have the 8 clips so I assumed that was correct for mine too. To be certain, I think I will just take mine off (vary carefully) and check before I end up buying something that ain't going to work.
Really helpful. Thank you so much

Any pics pal? Was that 6 or 8 clips? What year is yours?

I can happily send a pic of the finished job. I dont think I have any pics of the lugs but I will look. Will send after breakfast :)

Word of caution... I ended up getting the GT lettering from ebay. TBH the quality is good and its cast metal and not plastic.... but it wasnt curved like the decklid is. I had to use heat and pressure and patience to curve it by hand to the shape of the decklid (before sticking it on) I did look at the ones from Nemesis UK but they had the prongs on them and I didnt want to try and cut off. So far so good and the one I have installed is staiyng put (even after a jet wash) but it was a bit of a pain.

p.s. this is the video I used to help me work out how to get it off without damaging the painted panel

I did NOT use a panel removal tool to get it off. Took a bit of work but I was paranoid about denting the panel above the decklid.

Here's the new panel fitted. And also the old panel showing the clips at the top. I remember the new panel was identical in terms of clip quantity and location. Mine is a pre facelift.

Looks really smart. So they are 8. I think mine are going to be 6 (face-lift) so that may be a bit of a bugger ha ha. The face-lift also has a raised line (speed line I think they laughingly call it) which I have only ever seen with 8 clips so that is another conundrum ha ha.

Thanks :)

Yeah I'm kinda happy with it except the scratches you can see just above the GT where I was cleaning with a micro fiber cloth. That's how sensitive these panels are.

You could maybe cut the extra clips off

That’s exactly what I did (I have some photos somewhere).

It’s rumoured that the pre facelift panels are a little more resistant to light scratches than the 18+ panel (based on OE supply).

Here you go :

I know the 15-17 decklid panels have some extra locating tabs when compared to the 18-23 decklid panels :

But do I need to cut them off, or will my 2020 trunk lid accept an earlier (unmodified) panel ?

I don’t want to cut them off if I don’t need to, but if I do need to cut them off, I would rather do it before the panel goes to the body shop and before I get part way through the swap, and then realise that I need to get the Dremel out … lol

Cheers,
