Great effort.
Perhaps you've used the somewhat less suited tool to open it, but: it helps all of us to see it can be done!
Gives hope if we want to buy the sets and put them in ourselves.

I agree
I used the Dremel hot knife,
If I was going to open my lights I would try to find a better tool,

Hi Ian,

I assume there is no controller behind the secondary black backing panel as found on the US models?

I met Ian briefly last night passing by his area after us saying about meeting up etc. Top bloke (nice to meet you mate) and had a good chat. After seeing your attempts with this headlight I reckon you have a lab in the garage where you wear your doc white jacket lol

Decided i couldn't be bothered to spend hours baking headlight,
so got the dremel versatip out and decided to cut it open, 10 mins was open.

edges are a bit rough, will see how it goes back together next week
this is a European LHD headlight, has got a horizontal adjuster, so wondering if it could do RHD aswel
Hi Ian,

Just spit-balling here but..... Rather than opening the whole unit wouldn't it be better to make some round holes behind the DRL gills, poke in the LED units that you require, then weather seal the holes?

Now you tell him after trying to burn his house down, melting his head lights & opening them up with a chain saw ;)

Cheers for advice, but after the mess I made,
I going to get Caniggia to do it, leave it to the experts :headbang:
