Header install time?

My tsp headers from beefcake showed up today along with a set of stage 3 cams. For those that have installed them, I was wondering how long I should expect to spend on installing them. Unfortunately I will be doing them with the car on jack stands no access to a lift. On a plus note though I am a mechanic for a living, mostly trucks, heavy equipment, and some small stuff here and there if I'm bored. So I do have a very well stocked tool box. Also any tips or tricks that makes the install easier would be appreciated. Thanks guys

PS I'm not doing the cams at the same time, still need to get bolts, opg, cs and such, so those will be a little while.

I had a shop do mine, major pita. I think it took him 5-6 hours tops but I imagine it would have taken me 3-4 hours longer. Steering column needs to come off, motor should be lifted, starter may need to come out, leave all hardware in that you can, makes putting the header on that much easier.

Edit: I was gearing up to do it myself but then he quoted me $300 for the install so I jumped on it.

I would jump all over that too. I hate doing them in trucks, so I know this won't be any fun. Imho I would rather be doing the cams, opg and cs install. I've timed lots of modular motors, and I don't consider them to be very difficult.

I've never messed with timing chains which is one of the main reasons I am on stock opg/cs still.

Well I took a good look at it today, and am going to be doing the install tomorrow, along with a steeda shifter mount, braided clutch line, 35lb clutch spring, jacking rails first lol and a big mouth. I have to bounce back and forth between that and work tomorrow, and fix a co-workers sons car somewhere in there. I'll be happy if I can get it finished by sunday afternoon. Looking at it, I feel like if it had my undivided attention the headers would take maybe a half a day or so. It doesn't look as bad as I was imagining.

It’s not as bad as most would make you believe. It is time consuming though. Probably take 8 hours your first time.
