Has anyone done tapered stripes

Looking at different stripe options for a Velocity Blue Gt. I’m doing so I started talking to my buddy who brought up the old LeMans stripes being tapered. I can not find any photos of this style on the newer generations. Is there a reason why people are no longer doing them?

Tapered? I assume you're talking about the stripes Carrol put on the early Shelby Mustang - the hood stripe tapered to the windshield - the roof tapered to the center of the roof then to the back window - finally the trunk tapered - this was to correct the visual image the stripes give when looking straight at them. I'm not aware of this done on any other car but I could be wrong. No reason why you can't do this yourself with a little trial and error.

These were also done on the mustangs.

I forgot to include that the Shelby stripes were painted on - no vinyl.

I got mine from AM, I think they were called V-series stripes. I tweaked them a little to align them with the hood scoop on my TruFiber hood.

My hood stripe has a taper. One of the reasons I bought it. I like the way it blends with the hood creases.
