Hard pull to left on acceleration after tire replacement

I bought a 2022 mustang gt premium with the performance package with 11k miles on it at the beginning of last month

After a bit I noticed my rear driver tire had a very small plug in the sidewall so today the dealer I bought it from replaced it for me. Now I've only put 2500 miles on the car, I haven't done any burn outs or anything of the sort.. besides driving fast in a straight line -im coming from thinking a 186hp mazda was fast so I'm not about to end up on YouTube before even making my first payment

Anyways.. the remaining rear tire seems to be completely worn despite the paperwork saying it has 50% tread left, could this cause my car to pull left on acceleration? For some reason I feel like a rear driver tire should make it pull right not left

Conceptually, I'm still thinking this out while looking for some documentation to confirm. But...

Car: new left rear, completely worn right rear.

The right rear tire will be spinning at a higher speed, due to its decreased circumference and smaller diameter. Car (and differential internals) with left tire spinning slower, right tire spinning faster: this is what happens when a car turns left. The diff thinks the car is turning left, even when you're driving in a straight line.

My initial thoughts any way.

How it impacts the diff and application of torque, how sensitive any diff is to different tire sizes, I'm still studying. I'm aware most tire sellers and some manufacturers recommend replacing tires in pairs, when wear is at a certain point.

This. You should never have different rolling size tires on the same axle, especially if there is a differential in the middle.

From the Ford Owner Manual, 2022, "It is recommended that the two front tires or two rear tires generally be replaced as a pair."

Everything I read (manufacturers and owner/operators) agreed with thoughts posted here: replace in pairs.

I did attempt to find any specifications, what limits there might be with respect to differences in tread depth between two tires. I could not find any for the Mustang. Other manufacturers, Subaru, Porsche, Mazda, etc., do have specifics in their operating guides. The allowable differences were very slight and effectively followed the guidance here: replace in pairs.

So ya, your next drive should be back to the tire shop, for a matching right-side tire. Otherwise, overheating of and damage to the LSD will occur.

Replace the other and use the tire as a spare.

It can definitely cause this because of the difference in tire height. Just as an example, my fox kept going left whenever the car wheelied. Suspension changes made no difference. Checked the rollout and one tire was smaller than the other even at the same pressure. IRS cars are even more sensitive to it.

And tire pressure can do the same thing. I had a tire leak in my right rear, but with 30 series, it wasn't obvious. Car was moving around and sure enough, one tire had 40 and the other was 20. Picked up a nail.

Just got the rear passenger tire replaced, p zero 275r4019.. $384 out the door

They were really cool and gave me the tire at bulk price ($325) and took off most of the labor, I had my card ready to swipe for $500 and he went above and beyond, can't complain. Like I told them I should have checked this before buying the car but I fell in love with it and just had to have it

Car tracks straight and doesn't pull at all anymore. In the end, I got 2 new tires for less than the cost of 1
