To all new parents, expecting parents, and to those still trying for their own mustang, hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.

Let 2016 be the year we all meet with our cars and laugh about upfitters, cup holders and boat schedules.

Have a good one all!

Was told as few weeks back it would be 05/12/2015 and I'd get updated every couple of weeks. Heard nothing. Emailed dealer last week to ask if it had been built in which case could I have the VIN please and if it had not, why not. Heard nothing back.

I admire everyone else's patience, particularly GregT who ordered in January 2014 and has still not received his car, but once we stray to 2016, mine will run out and I will be putting my dealer on notice that for every day after 31/12/2015, I'll be expecting them to reduce the price of the car by the cost of a day's hire of an equivalent car. It may not be their fault but they need to take that up with Ford UK, who in turn need to take it up with Ford US. No excuse for the delay. People who ordered far later than myself and many others have got their cars so the car could have been built and delivered by now - as could many others on this forum who ordered around or before me.

Of course, the dealer will offer me the opportunity to cancel which I shall politely decline - I'm entitled to be put back in the position I would have been in if the contract had been performed which means I would have had the car in Q4. They will also decline to reduce the price so I shall pay the balance. And then I shall consider whether I push on to the small claims court for breach of contract. Once I have made that decision, I may consider whether anyone else wants to join in because now, I think they have extinguished my loyalty and are now taking the mick out of me and out of a whole bunch of us.

Andy and his team of course have been helpful but didn't take up my suggestion to reward our collective patience with a goodwill gesture like US priced parts with no shipping costs so I'm not overly inclined to get him involved. It didn't work before and there is nothing to suggest it will work now. It is clearly a Ford US issue. Looks like someone dropped a stack of the orders and couldn't be bothered to put them back in order.

I hope you hear something back soon. Your dealer sounds like me, absolutely useless. I've stopped emailing mine as he just doesn't write back, thankfully Karen has been very helpful with me.

Hi CJ01,

The situation improves a lot when they get you a VIN number. Days of fun pinging ETIS to get that build confirmation - unless it maybe has been built already?

I do reckon they are improving the time from production to delivery. Some of the earlier cars waited a couple of months to be gate released. Yours may well sail out of the plant :D

You'll not feel good if you cancel. You will feel good when the car eventually turns up. ;)

Greg

Missed this! Hope everyone had a good one :) difficult to arrange a meet when deliveries are trickling through so maybe a few more weeks before we start throwing some date around ay?! Will have to keep an eye on the weather and make sure we pick a decent weekend, and of course a cool location!
