Yahoo been sending me messages for several months about new outfit taking them over and going to shutdown my account yesterday if I didnt click on "See what is needed" or some such crap.
Well, this morning,on the phone,I tried to cliclk on it a nothing happened. Then about 2pm the calls from friends in Georgia and elsewhere started rolling in and I did get the joy of talking to dear friends for a while.
Guess I had a senior moment.

No, I am not really surprised. Thanks.

So I’m not sure if this applies to Android mobile devices or not, but with Apple mobile devices - when you go into your email accounts to view the emails:
- open email
- at very top, tap twice on just the email SENDER line
- it will open the contact window and there you can see the complete email address used by the Sender (NOT the initial ā€œaliasā€ name that you normally see first).

You can instantly tell at that point if the email sender is bogus… especially if some shithead is trying to spoof a Company, Corporation, or other well known email addresses. At that point you can then block the Sender and just delete the email.

NEVER click on ANY links within an email UNTIL you can verify the Sender…

Watch out too, because these shitheads are sending PDF attachments, attachments that look like photos, word docs, excel files, zip files, etc…. Never, ever click a link or try to open an attachment if you have not verified the Sender first.

There’s also a new scam going where the Sender is showing as ā€œMicrosoft Partnerā€ and the email content looks like it was sent directly from MS, however if you saw the real email address behind the Sender ā€œMicrosoft Partnerā€, you’d know right away it’s a damn bogus phishing scam…. Do NOT click on anything in those emails.

right there with you on this one... crazy enough, there are emails that you only have to open to get whacked, without clicking anything in the email... if you're working on your pc browser you can just mouseover the sender's address to get a more detailed view... "Watch out too, because these shitheads are sending PDF attachments, attachments that look like photos, word docs, excel files, zip files, etc…. Never, ever click a link or try to open an attachment if you have not verified the Sender first." Now it's been said twice 😬

As a general rule of thumb, I am very cautious except when this guy emails me:
