Hell yes you should consider the ND, and the only people that need some sense talked into their heads are the people ragging on it ITT.

Or maybe they don't need sense talked into their heads. Maybe they just need a chance to see what it's like to drive a lightweight, short wheelbase car. I bet that Miata will be a dream to hoon around on back roads. It would make my GT feel like a tank.

The Miata, with not a lot of $$, can be a vicious little car. I've thought about it time to time myself...there's kits out there that'll drop a 5.0 MonsterMiata engine kit & you'll have a Miata that'll cook a Mustang. They even have kits now to drop a 6.3L Chev engine!

When I was in high school/ college, we actually considered Mustangs girl cars because tons of teenage girls in my town drove v6 Mustangs.

Also, when I owned a Miata and frequented the boards, according to the polls the Miata was driven by almost purely men. Of course those polls were probably not accurate because racers and enthusiasts frequent boards and not average owners.

in my opinion mustang is less of a toy than miata :
-i can take 3 people skiing in the mustang and carry luggage, hardware store items, tools, equipment etc

miata is really just for fun not a DD but it could work depending on your lifestyle

My DD for 3 years and 70k miles. Never let me down and was a hoot every single drive. I commute over 100 miles every day and need my car for work. It paid for itself in gas savings in 2 years over my F150.

I put on springs, adjustable sways, bumpstops, RX8 wheel bearings, adjustable shocks, and never messed with the engine. On corners I destroyed 6 figure cars. On the straights they got pulled over, I didn't. There's plenty of supercharged, turbocharged, and V8 Miatas out there that will have you slinking off in embarrassment.

It's not a toy or a girl's car. It's a sports car...much more than the Mustang will ever be. And I sold it to get a Mustang.

If it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work for you but don't discount a stellar automobile if you haven't lived with it.

I live on a farm out in the sticks. That snowy driveway is mine and I have to plow it a lot in winter. Sometimes I have to plow the gravel road out there just to get to pavement. Truck is a true work truck and it's old reliable. When it's -20F and blowing and drifting and I have to plow every 40 minutes all night long, it just gets up and says, "Let's get to it!"

I also have a 24 ft sailboat (selling that too) that it tows just fine.

If we ever get snow here at all, it's maybe an inch or two. This storm back in '03 took us completely by surprise. This photo was taken after a harrowing 3 hour (25 mile) drive home from work. This was as far up my driveway as I could get. I jumped out and said "WOO HOO..Close enough"!!!

Yes, this was my daily driver, and this is the only time I wished I had a second vehicle!
