I think he may have had the traction control turned off.

Note: Driver should have gone to a giant parking lot to do this in case the car fishtailed. He could have done that to "practice" and learn about the car. Since the car is aluminum, I will assume this car is now totalled.

Okay, I've never raced or tracked my car, but I have punched it quite hard in secluded private roads. I have a serious question...what did this driver do to cause this? I've seen other videos with similar outcomes.

Seemed to me that he shifted hard without traction control on got loose and didn't add countersteer. What do I know wasn't driving it

Yea either road conditions or let the wheel go and the road was at a slight pitch, whatever. Lost positive control.

Just stayed in the throttle too long it seems. Let out, or at least finessed it, and countersteer woulda saved it.

Dumbass.

Too much gas going into second gear and probably held clutch down and then engaged too fast with full throttle. Lost traction and no counter steering. Sad

I personally feel bad for the guy. We have all made mistakes but that was a costly one and I don't want the karma coming back on me for laughing at the poor dude. sucks

Exactly. 3rd into owning a car ended up almost doing something similar on the ramp - recovered but completely understand how you end up in that situation.

I think us folks in locations with snow grow up learning how to handle a car when it gets squirly because just about 100% of us have had the situation happen in the snow... But man that really sucks... New car totalled for trying to just drive fast in a straight line... man
