There is such a thing as too close for reasonably easy entry and exit to your car. Having to step directly onto a 5" or taller curb because there isn't enough room at pavement level doesn't fit this criteria very well. It's worse than 'not reasonably easy' when you're either older or have bad knees.

You got me there Norm, but I guess you park according to your own needs. I just pointed out the Law doesn't say you have to be 18 inches from the curb. And others added not wanting to stick out into traffic. When I drove my Wife's 86 Vette it was sometimes lower than the curbs. Parking was always an issue in that car.

I think I paralell parked once with the 15 Mustang last summer and I couldn't tell you when the time ahead of that was. But the camera is the greatest for backing up--aim those lines to the middle of the garage door and go. There is a feature on the camera that gives a straight down view, that I imagine is more for hooking up trailer hitches but you can see very well how close you are to touching things.
