Debating if I want to lower it or not.
With the Roush 20's on it, I feel like it has a nice "old school" charm to it at stock height.

That's why I'm only dropping an inch. Tasteful, sportier, but not 'slammed'.

The wheels look concentrically uniform to the wheel wells in which they reside. Why drop it at all? I am curious as to why anyone lowers their cars. I know it's all the rage to modify these things, but why? Surely someone has asked this before. I mean, don't the Ford engineers know what they're doing? If Mustangs drove better lowered, why wouldn't they lower them AT the factory? Just curious.

That's actually pretty easy to answer. 1: people lower not just for the look, but it reduces the drag coefficient by providing less room for air to get under the car. And 2: it's that high from the factory simply for daily driving scenarios. People would complain incessantly if the air dam underneath scraped on every single driveway, and other scenarios like that.

Plus using good lowering springs also gives better handling as well as less body roll in corners, better launch, less nose dive under braking & a tighter feel when driving.:headbang:

I hear what you're saying. For me, as a daily driver, I think it would be a waste of money. I'm not going to take my car to the track, and I'm not considering a career in autocross, so it doesn't justify the expense of lowering the car. And some driveway transitions are very unforgiving, so I don't see the logic in dropping the car, only to scrape the nose again and again.

As for the looks of it, that is a subjective thing; sometimes it looks sharp, other times, not so much. I think a lot rides on the wheel choice, combined with the vehicle height. To each his own. Like anything else, auto vs manual, tint or not, rebadge or de-badge, stripes or not, raise or lower, it all comes down to what makes you happy in the end.

Its not about going to the track or racing, Im a daily driver as well but there are roads i drive that i like to push a bit through and enjoy the (sports car) drive. Not to mention im not a fan of the slight cadillac float style of the stock spring feel. Also, I had to Jump on my brakes, almost t-bone some idiot the 3rd day i had my car & the Nose dive was fierce in the car so i know it will help under hard braking in those situations plus, Yeah, the Look is SIck :-)Yes, its all Subjective for sure... Im a Driver, where as i want my car to handel better for sure for my driving style

Most people lower their car for performance and the looks are just bonus. This forum is infamous for performance mod since this is a performance car. Performance doesn't necessarily mean autocross or drag race. It just means your spirited drive becomes more pleasurable. Plus, once you drive a sports car with performance springs, you'll see how confidently you can take twists and turns on the highway. Our car stock will start floating when hitting a dip or bump during a turn at 65mph. With lowering springs, it feels like it's on rail. Plus the severe nose dip on hard braking in an emergency really is annoying.

You're comparing performance springs with this:

Which looks stupid.

This is my baby :) so far got borla s type catback exhaust which sound amazing. Steeda subframe braces, vertical links and bushing support system. Also got the ford racing short shifter and blowfish racing bracket. My amazing gf just bought me the jlt oil separator , steeda heavy duty clutch line and raxiom tailight sequencer kit. Im super excited for those parts :) My next big purchase is gonna be the cobra jet intake manifold and possibly switch out the 2 piece driveshaft. I live in canada and the dollar is weak so im not going as crazy as id like to but itll still put a big smile on my face :)

Seriously! That's some ridiculously negative camber.

Lower it. Tastefully. After much internal debate I went with Eibach Sportlines and can confirm all positive comments. You'll be happy you did.

Did you notice any change in the ride quality? Sportlines usually drop cars to a perfect height and eliminate most wheel gap from my experience with them.

Also did you need camber caster plates?? I bought these and after reading figured I would need them, so I decided to go with Steeda progressives instead. If you didn't need plates, I may cancel my steeda order.

The Sportlines worked perfect for me. The wheel gap and lowered look is exactly what I was hoping for. I've read several reviews where S550 owners who have the PP didn't notice much difference in ride quality after lowering. I concur. Certainly nothing negative. I did not need camber caster plates. My installer had no issues with alignment.

I think the Roush Quicksilver 20's look great on "RobMustang 15" Guard. Whether he lowers it or not the car looks great. Just saying, I had no issues at all with the Eibach Sportiness.
