I like to disassemble things.
rushca01, you are getting some great advice here.

If you are looking to see more of the GT4 hardware, here's a thread I did on the matter last year.
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86581&highlight=Dean+martin+gt4

Regarding the shifter - do it. I've posted all the details in this forum on it and watched this one go from concept to the latest revision. George is a good friend but that doesn't jade my perspective. I recognize superior hardware and in this case if you have the funds I'd say get it done and move onto the next mod you feel matches your requirements best. You will not be disappointed.

If it matters, many of the GT4-specific parts can be had but it isn't as easy as calling 1-800 Americanmuscle. Almost every bit is pricey.

I'll be at most of the IMSA GS races this year in Dean's pit. If you have a specific question that I can't answer I'll try to get it for you. Just let me know.

Thanks! I understand what you are saying, I really do. In my mind it just seems logical to replace some of the rubber bushings at least with poly/delrin to take some of the slop out.

You are exactly right though, I don't want to just throw a hodge podge of parts at the car and waste money in the process and potentially make it worse/unsafe.

What Camber plates do you recommend?

What I'm really leaning towards is simply adding the following:
Forgeline wheels
caliper fexion brake studs for easy of changing pads
R Front springs (if I'm doing camber plates why not)
R rear sway bar

I wouldn't mind changing out some of the rear rubber bushings but I heed your advice.
Skip the R hardware and get a BMR lockout kit or Steeda braces. Securing the rear IRS cradle is so effective it's almost like re-tuning the rear sway bar. People get WAY too excited about replacing sway bars. It's not a good idea, especially the rear bar. V8 derivative Mustangs since '10 have had great sway bars matched to the chassis. If anything, do the front bar and leave it at full soft and work on driving skill and dig deeper into adjustment as you get better. The front bar definitely could use some work so that is actually advisable.

They haven't been mentioned too much yet but before they do, do NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT waste money on new vertical links. They're useless until 700+ RWHP and really don't show their benefits unless you're hitting the 1320. For chrissake, the GT cars are even using the factory stamped pieces.

+1 The craze for aftermarket vertical links is ridiculous. Completely unnecessary.

This'll get you much closer to GT4 performance without a bunch of mis-matched parts working against each other.....

Part #: M-FP500-FP350S

MSRP: $114,990

Although, if it's gotta be street legal, just go for an R.
Isn't this the ultimate package if you can get it at MSRP and you have the means to transport it or keep it at a track? I am salivating over that car. One day....or a 997 Cup...

You'd be lucky if you can get an allocation.

I like how on the ford performance page for the vehicle there is a you tube video where the ford engineer makes it sound like purchasing it is as easy as buying a oil filter at the parts counter. :headbonk:
