I have a set of the red R emblems that I hope you all can help me clear up some confusion. As far as I know, the red R emblems were only ever available individually for the front grille, but for a very short period of time. Ford discontinued the logo itself and you could only buy the grille with the emblem already there. As far as the rear deck panel, those were never available individually.
I have what I believe to be an extreme oddity - a rear deck emblem with the mounting posts still intact. Is anyone aware of a way to remove a rear deck emblem without breaking those posts. I thought it was not possible.
Here is what leads me to believe what I have is a rear deck emblem. Reference Ford part numbers:
The GT350R Front Grille - FR3Z 8200 BB
The GT350R Front Emblem Only - FR3V 8A224 ZGXA
The GT350R Rear Deck Panel - FR3Z 634258 BG
The GT350R Emblem In Question - FR3V 6342508 BA
The front emblem has three mounting posts, two are threaded. What I believe to be the rear one has two mounting posts and neither of them are threaded.
Can anyone confirm for me what I think I have, and does anyone know how these are able to be removed without breaking the two plastic posts, I would be most grateful.
I have attached images of each.
