It appears as if Randy is not driving for Motor Trend at this time. Randy is actually testing with Ford Performance...

Is the great Randy Pobst part of Team Ford now? Has he left Volvo finally???
randy dailys a 1LE, so I highly doubt he is part of team ford.

According to Randy, he was testing for Ford Performance. Not only the GT350's but the Focus RS and Raptor too. He could very well be involved somehow, especially since he posted this picture and comment.

I had mentioned this in the "First Drives" thread. You can hear in the lead/follow video that Randy is leading the group. I had asked in that thread if he was part of the development, or possibly just tapped for the specific Laguna Seca event due to his experience there with MT. If he is happy with the cars, then IMO that is a big compliment. If he helped with development at all, then even better.

I hear Randy took the two Porsches, the C7 Z51 and the z28 with the GT350R...

He will not be lapping for Motor Trend and Randy has already beaten the z28. From what I hear, the GT350R beat the z28 baaaaaaaad...

Ford Performance is rock'n it...

If I can find a diminutive functional rear roof spoiler for the RS, I might go that route over a 350.

I liked the odd shaped spoiler FP was testing the RS with, but the stock spoiler is to obtrusive and facetious looking. Might be the perfect track car for me. Can't wait to drive them both & decide.

There is gotta be a reason Randy keeps mentioning it...

About as bad as the new GT3 did. I'm thinking Randy is in the 1:35-1:36 range for sure. I think the Z51 and z28 were there for the GT350TP comparison. The Porsches were the R's main focus...

Underdogs in both contest and I prefer it that way. I doubt we will get Randy's times if he's working with Ford.

Ford has a "low 1:30" claim, I'm not sure if that's Randy's time or not.

We will finally get to see how a Z51 compares to the z28 if this is a media test.. I think some Camaro fans will be upset. Keep in mind though, a tight track with extreme elevation changes will always favor a lighter car and a shorter wheelbase...

So don't get upset when you heard how a $75,000 Camaro did against a $60,000 Corvette.

I have a hard time believing it beat the GT3... People keep talking about not needing to shift. I did say this was a huge advantage but a Boxster has a similar advantage too... amount other things...

I see some butt hurt in the chevy camp. They really should drop the price on the camaro. That would help keep a certain orfice well lubed.

Pretty sure Chevy was throwing cash on the hoods of the Z/28 to move them out, I've heard discounts of $10k and more

GT3 with a 9,000 rpm redline doesn't have to shift either. Will be interesting to see how that one plays out vs. the Voodoo 8,250 redline. I think the 5.2L has a more broad power curve than the 3.8L in the Porsche but I'm too lazy to look it up now. :p

Not directing at you specifically, but I'm more than ready for the bench racing to end and some real numbers to start emerging from these tests.

I was offered employee pricing on a Z/28 due to a family connection to a retired GM worker. Told him I had a deposit on a GT350, to which the reply was "good choice". :)

The impending weight announcement and missing the "200lbs model to model" has caused some anxiety. I went through lengths with great effort to warn Camaro Nation (again) about some sideways sh!t. I wish the time I talked about automobiles didn't need to consist of exposing a rotten company... I'd much rather talk about racing...

thePill would be rather fun loving, dormant and passive if people didn't feel the need to squash the truth. At the very minimum, I hope this drawn out lesson has at least shown what others will do to stop someone from speaking. Dozens and dozens of C5/C6 members have come here to save people from thePill's imagination... As if they should be the determining factor on what people hear, see and read on the Internet. Some people merely intervene just because they hate anyone that has an open opinion.

They have yet to fully understand that their crusade, although admirable in persistency, was the sole reason they get thePill's horns. Were any of them correct on anything? No, they just recycled corporate punchlines as fact base solely on faith in a For-profit organization. They are consumers and the best kind... gullible...

Is it any of their faults? No... I myself fell for the 1LE bullsh!t so I'm no better than them. I didn't buy into the ZL1 hype but for some reason I did the 1LE... They are at each others throats and they really shouldn't be. I'd focus on Team Camaro and stop being rude to each other. Who cares if thePill was right, what matters is that these are facts and people are not happy.

I'm not holding anything anyone said to me against them. In fact, I hope to see them here, posting for or against thePill, as soon as they have time. Why punish someone or run them down because they trusted someone? I'm not doing that nor would I want anyone here to do the same. I don't like seeing people led on, thumping the word "faith" then gettin' f@cked in the end. It sickens me...

Anyway, I will get to actually speak to some of these C5/C6 people now. They won't be under the same trance as before and to me, it's a new day and a clean slate...

...I suggest we all do the same...

If they decide to aquire a membership here, we should treat them as potential Mustang owners... here to gather information to make an informed purchase...
