Hey Pill or Top, any word from Multimatic on the GT350 racing at Sebring? Rumor during the 24, was they were going to run it there. I believe one of the drivers alluded to it.

Sebring was one of the major developement tracks for the GT350. Appearently, it had top speeds well over 150mph on the stretch. That would be at least 8-12mph faster than the z28.

Not a good start... In other words...

Boss 302 was to z28, as z28 is to GT350.

I can't confirm if it was GT350, GT350TP or GT350R.

Well well so the ats v end up around 3700+ lbs! Things are not looking good for the camaro however i wonder if the lt1 weights less than the twin turbo v6 and take all the luxury out from the camaro, then maybe it might! But camaro guys want interior upgrades and all so without weight gain i don't see that happening. My guess is 3750 base and 3910 loaded camaro ss!

Interesting thread(cough).

So even though the ATS coupe is taller, longer and wider than the Stingray, there's no way they can fit a V8 in it.

Cadillac needs to hire some new engineers.

Ford will probably be taking orders for GT350's by then.

I am pretty tired of Chevy's constant media grinding. Good lord, lube it up and stick it in CHEVY, Motor Trend don't mind... Hell, go ATM if you need to...

Magically, the crackshot engineers (not just any engineer either) sent the Z06 to MT with bad alignment... I said they sent a Z06 to fight a GT-R at Motor Trend with bad alignment... Whatever... Then they developed some "new rough road software" to handle Willow.

WTF is going on here? I can accept the z28's airing down tires until they win, or advertising race car lap times as official Ring numbers... But going back to the drawing board a quarter of the way through the model year? Please!!!! Just to lay down a faster lap (with a different driver on a different day) and now this is a legitimate win in MT's publication?

If it's gonna be like this the entire Generation, just quit doing comparisons period... It's bullshit, Chevy is bullshit and now the Corvette is being drawn into this slack ass bullshit.

All this is? Chevy returning to a magazine comparison with a Ringer optimized for Willow JUST to produce a faster lap. They changed the damn alignment and returned almost 60 days later with new software.

(I'm not linking the article, why bother with bullshit?)

They could save time and effort and do all Motor Trend tests at the GM test track. That would save Chevy and MT the time needed for testing and losing, going home, then returning after a re-tune for the specific track they lost at.

You think they'd been to Willow a few times and could have been prepared? Or maybe they got whipped, came up with a scapegoat, went home, tweaked the suspension and maybe they did a little engine remapping too while they were at it, they had plenty of time?

You'll love this...

Usually, rear caster is set at the factory and can't be changed even if you want to. It's something Chevrolet engineers added to the C7 Z06 so it could be better aligned for track duty, and when you change the rear camber and toe, you can mess up the caster if you don't check for it. This is apparently what happened at Chevy's alignment shop.
(Other than changing the camber and toe before a MAJOR comparison against it's only natural predator)

So, the "Alignment" shop at Chevy didn't check the alignment before sending the car across the country for a highly anticipated comparison?

Sure... Are you guys hiring? What exactly do you guys do at the alignment shop? Just loosening nuts and bolts and tightening them back down? Just let those camber angles and toe relaaaaaaax Z06...

Wait... what was that other angle we were suppose to check?

OEM adjustable camber and stock sounds like a plus for me...no need to add any aftermarket camber kits. Why are you hating on Chevy for doing something most enthusiasts would like?
