Hot, hot indeed!! People are always coming up asking about the car, telling me how good it looks, etc.
Seems like the Carrera S was at least one of the GT's benchmarks. I think that is a very good target for a $35,000 GTPP. I am very happy with the direction the Mustang is headed, very please with the initial design.

It is talked about here...

http://www.autoevolution.com/news/f...is-better-than-the-porsche-911-gt3-91165.html

It isn't rocket science really, even at 3575lbs and 500hp, the PtW ratio is 7.15.

We are thinking 535hp at 3575lbs is 6.66 and sound pretty feasible. Of course, it could be 3400lbs@525hp... also a 6.66...

The z28's PtW ratio is 7.62. The deck is stacked against the car right from the start.

Edit: There is panic that a delay has occurred in 6th Gen R&D/Production. I always said the 6th Gen was going to be a 2017, released 29 Sept, 2016. I think there is a mass issue, the Camaro should have never got so bloated already.

Edit: Man... It was done right...

Here is the z28 at the Ring (note the extensive cage work?)

...and the 6th Gen...

I don't get it... They eliminated the remaining grace and have turned it into a pug.

It was back a couple pages. The GT3 is at 6.6lb./HP if I remember, and the GT350 if at 525HP would have to weigh 3465lb. to get that number, or have more weight and power of course. I would think the "R" should get pretty close to that weight without the rear seat, trunk carpet, with CF wheels, res. delete, AL driveshaft, etc.

The GT350R would need 522hp to have a 6.63 PtW ratio at 3465lbs. That is very, very possible.

The Mustang is already at a lower curb weight, optimal footprint, great rubber, superior Power to Weight Ratio and maybe more HP. It doesn't look good for the z28. Maybe the GT350 w/TP.

I am pretty much counting on at least 520hp so it hits that magical 100hp/liter. :headbang:

By the way, this thing looks so nasty in flat black with gloss BOSS hockey sticks! Though I like the lower CTSCC wing.

Expect some muscle flexing from the GT350 at Willow and Laguna Seca next weekend. The GT350's 50th Anniversary is next weekend and we could see an appearance of the 2015 (yes, I said 2015) GT350 and GT350R.

Lap times at Laguna Seca were rumored to be as fast as the current Boss 302R used in CTSC GS. That would be close to 1:36 flat and about 1.75 seconds faster than a 2015 z28 at the same track.

The GT350 is poised to shine after the Z06 nonsense, the z28's performance there and the absence of a 6th Gen. I think the GT350 needs multiple stages to perform on, especially if lap times are mentioned... especially with GM coming up short recently...

i hope that the basic GT350 is about 3 seconds faster than the z28,and the R 5 seconds or faster than the z28.:ford::lol:

This was in my mailbox this morning, sorry I didn't read it right off hand. It was titled "nQSXEwqs" and I thought it might be a p*nis enlargement offer or some "Barely Legal" Teen that wants me to see her pictures... in private... (it's always "In Private").

Anyway... sorry...

This is from a Financial Report apparently within GM. Looks like that 20% really upset some Stock Holders, thePill being one of them :(

We are holding out for our regular checks though, they will return I am sure... hopefully...

Anywho...

"I got this from an end of year stock sales report for a inside GM blog. Interesting reading."

2015 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 sales fiasco- a precursor to big discounts on 2015 Corvette C7 Z06?

Without any doubt, the latest Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is a huge sales failure for +General Motors. Kudos to Camaro engineering team for making a valiant effort but in the end, it is still just another Camaro, bought by redneck crowd, attracted to low pricing and peak horsepower and torque numbers than track oriented handling and braking.

No matter what suspension and brake and aerodynamic aides have been applied to the Camaro, it is still the same overweight land yacht and slapping a $75k on a car that comes up short on power when compared to its cheaper ZL1 stable mate had to end up in a big failure.

The outcome is huge discounting of over $20k not just on the 2014 but 2015 model year as well. The funny part here is the fact that in spite of limited production numbers, GM still overestimated the demand, not being able to even sell 1500 of these boats. Is there a lesson here? Of course there is, same one along the lines of another huge sales failure, Generation 5 Dodge Viper.
(Sorry Dad)

Sure, most of what he is saying is just baseless ranting by an overly wealthy fellow that is upset GM isn't sending him a regular check now... Um hello??? That isn't just the z28's fault although, I understand why he is focused on low volume, high performance vehicles.

1.) These cars are absorbing massive amounts of R&D dollars and not showing any return what so ever. These vehicles would be the 1LE, ZL1, z28, Z06, ZR1 and you get my point.

2.) Most of the R&D money that was responsible for those cars I listed was in fact, TAX PAYER BAILOUT MONEY. The bailout left GM with almost unlimited R&D resources, which they pissed away in a few short years. A large chunk of that even went into a NEW pushrod V8 which, will see little or no return beyond 2015.

3.) Some experienced investors see a lot of bad decisions being chained together. That usually signals the life boats...

Edit: Here is two 625hp Shelby GT's on the track, it also has a C7 lapping a few frames as well. It is nice to see the size difference between the two being so close now. Anyway, enjoy the soundtrack at least...

28 Days till Spring fella's!!!

Won't he end up having more $ into it than buying a GT350 even with a little mark up?
