Oh man, a blown engine and even more problems with the replacement...

How much was R&D on that new pushrod V8? $820,000,000??? Ah, that's not bad...

I still like the C7, although mainly now just the exterior/interior styling. I can't trust a Sports Car that blows an engine at 3000 miles.

Yes, I have heard aweful things about the new GM LT series V8's. Not only has there been issues with the LT4, the LT1 has had similar "sheering" and "oil starvation" issues as well. Something tells me they were originally meant to be Dry Sump but budget and weight said NO.

The ATS-V is their only hope...

That was an awesome vid! As much as I dislike the camaro with the terrible interior I wouldn't turn down a ride in it that's for sure!
Quibbles over the interior will disappear (at least temporarily) once you're moving beyond any moderate pace. I have had a ride in one, just this past November at NJMP's Thunderbolt circuit. Overall a pretty tame ride, given that the car's owner had only signed up for one session behind a pace car at speeds up to what would constitute "somewhat illegal" on NJ's 65 mph Interstate stretches. But you could tell there was way, way more performance and grip available.

I actually got to drive it for a mile or so around paddock afterward trying to demonstrate something for the owner's benefit. The one thing that sticks out in my mind is how soft the clutch pedal's "feel" was, considering the amounts of torque and HP that that device has to handle.

I can't believe this thread is still going on. These two won't be in the wild together for a while

I personally want the Hellcat, GT350 and the Z/28 to all be tested out together for a good comparison of them.

Really, the cat can barely pull .9 g's and weighs 2 tons, I don't think it's in the same class. Now when the GT500 comes out, it and the Hellcat will probably be in the same, mostly go straight, mega-horsepower class.

Well well, another year and much progression has been made this year. In 2014, I did most of my writing on the go. I just didn't have the time to sit and entertain. I am here to tell you now, since all my hard work has paid off... and both my work office and private office are both up and running, I will be able to dedicate more time to my Automotive Free Writing. In the Two-Thousand and Fifteenth year of our Lord, thePill will be returning to his roots :)

Over the last 12 months, I don't feel I put enough effort into what I have posted for M6G members to read. Sure, most will lend me praises for the writing and it may be entertaining and informative. However, I feel I can get better info, make better jokes and get back into my Photoshop crackups that I even miss to a large extent. In other words M6G, I apologize for the dull year. Another issue being on the move at all times is links to my info and pictures/video explaining what I am discussing... As I said, I feel the quality of post have diminished some last year and I intend to recapture my Camaro hating core as quickly as I can.... Moving on...

I spent most of last year making new friends in the industry... and I have some very good news. I am so close to luring a hardcore, Ford Fanatic into M6G to assist me when I have industry speculation. He is a tough egg to crack and pretty deep in the world of Ford. I feel he will finally make his appearance here soon (hopefully). If you thought thePill was bad, wait until you get a load of him. Death the ALL things Camaro...

I heard a lot of whining and crying from C5 stragglers that wondered over because they hate when people read what I type. Isn't that pathetic? Aren't most of those crack lickers over there the big "P" word? Every time my thread view count increases over here, they reach for the Vinegar. Wash it out fella's... Wash it out... Just because you cry or complain about the people that read my writing doesn't mean they all take it seriously. Get a hobby...

I feel my warnings, although initially fought against both tooth and nail, were heard and heeded.

Many Camaro enthusiast on C5 began to actually see the situation for what it was, a warning to those that wanted to race... There were initial hopes that the z28 would have been almost 3700lbs even. That was based on the "100lbs Lighter than the SS" comment. Unfortunately, Chevy never told anyone the SS was pushing 3950lbs. A bit fat still, i can see why Chevy was so embarrassed with the weight. Instead of saying "3820lbs" they said "100lbs lighter" and loved the fact that everyone assumed (and advertised) 3700lbs. Again, Chevy is as Chevy does... I believe I threw a warning out about the weigh too, Oh yes... I warned about the SS silently gaining weight while these 3700lbs predictions were running wild.

I see that nobody has tried to register and compete in a z28. I seems like racing and tracking isn't as big of a deal as they pretended. It was an area that the Camaro could defend itself in so, it was one of the few things to clap about... but all things end I guess. I still find it endlessly funny that the z28 was initially bowled over to be a "Racecar" and, Motor Trend still lets that analogy slip here and there. Because they don't really have a clue as to what a class consist of to legally run. They honestly don't know... I have even had Camaro fans tell me that racing doesn't really matter to the Camaro...

Wut, wut??

No, no Camaro fans... the Camaro doesn't matter in racing... you had that backwards...

What about the cost? Remember I warned about excessive greed? That $80,000 was waaaaaaaaaaay too high? I think the people at Chevy are waaaaaaaaay too high. If you were so inclined, you could leaf through these pages and find where I said "I can part the z28 out to reach $65,000, it is difficult but, I can manage a $65,000 MSRP. I even gave it the extra $67,929 because that date means something. I still confessed that $67k was too high still... Look at what they have done to you... The nameplate that had very little heritage to begin with has been drug through the Profit Mud. Whored out for a dollar...

...then POOF!!! $25,000 off...

What a f@ckin joke. After a god awful refresh (that Fenwick said would never happen) and sales sh!t themselves (that Fenwick said would never happen), they get hit megaton with a Lawsuit and then a Firesale... It's been a good year for thePill, shitty as all hell for Chevy and GM.

What about Nurburgring? Doesn't Chevy owe you guys a 7:31 out of the z28? Isn't that going to be difficult to do? Heres why...

The z28 did in excess of 40 laps at Nurburgring on the z28. This was a 2 week practice session. At the same time, the C7 Stingray ran there as well but still no times from the C7. That's probably because it's really good right guys? No, its settled slightly faster than Pork Sausages 7:41 the year before. I was pretty vocal on my findings... First of all, I made comments about the z28 not being able to out pace the ZL1 and C7 while it was there. Once the report came out, Chevy admitted that the 7:37 was done in the last run of the last day of tracking. Ok, so my guys didn't stay there half the month to watch you make a fool of yourself. Then, they say "Oh yeah, we forgot we ran a 7:31" and that was in response to the GT500 doing a 7:39 a year before the z28 was shat out.

Wait a minute... Didn't Al Openbudweiser say they did that 7:37 on the last run on the last day? When did they do that 7:31?

They didn't... Plain and simple...

As we inch closer to the Gen 5.5 Camaro to come out in 20 months or so, thePill is prepping his guns all over again. I honestly believe their little corner has been enlightened by my discussions. If it wasn't for some resistance, who knows what they would try to pull...

Happy New Years M6G... As I said last year... It's gonna be a good year for thePill...
