As of right now both the GT and the R street cars are faster than the z28 at VIR and Grattan.

I can't tell you how I know.
I was expecting a good time out of the GT350 at VIR since Ford mentioned they tested there, but faster than the z28 would be so amazing - it's hard to believe.
Remember Ford played down the GT350 as not a competitor to the z28....but FASTER!?
I am going to LOVE Lightning Lap this year if this is the case. Wonder what kind of re-tests those chevy fanboys at C&D will come up with to cover up the shame! :ford:

Would I be right in saying that this category may tell which is the better donor vehicle but wouldn't be a definite representation of how much quicker one production car is over the other?

I always thought the point of streaming, is that if you miss it, you can watch it later. I understand live.

But I wasn't able to catch that practice session yesterday, I see no way to stream it now..

I am eagerly anticipating the GT350 being the sole reason the z28 doesn't win a Championship again this year.

That is my wish... that this car manages to disrupt the z28's "entitled" CTSC Championship.

Wanna talk heritage? The GT350 was THE original Mustang to hand the z28 it's ass in 1966 (SCCA Trans Am). Even back then, the z28 wasn't really that good until the 1968 season rule changes.

Those that bought a z28 are likely hanging themselves. It was not worth $75,000.

The Stig rippin' it up.

Ben Collins says the GT350R is "Super Lightweight".

What does "Super Lightweight" mean in the UK?

Under 3500lbs to me would be Super Lightweight in 2 Door, V8 Coupe form.

The fastest z28 in qualifying was Bell in the Steve-O #9. During practice, the four z28's kinda traded the fastest Camaro title back and forth. It's only practice.

Last season, the z28's swept the front row with a 2:00.7 and a 2:00.9. This was with a smaller restrictor. I can't remember the sizes and time frames they were used. It's currently 65mm. It was 68mm, 75mm and 80mm. I believe it carried an 80mm restriction up until October 2014. So, it was likely an 80mm restriction. Edit: I need to check when the 75mm was used. Maybe during the off season 2013-2014.

Today, the fastest z28 in P1 ran a 2:01.5 but was a lowly z28 on the scrotum pole. I do believe it was 2:01.5 but I can't for certain remember. It was 2nd fastest and the 350 was behind it. Plain and simple the larger restriction killed the LS7. I am beginning to think that it has a serious negative effect on their performance.

The GT350 ran fantastic all day....

I am not enthusiastic about the changes. The 3.31 gearing, the 21 gallon fuel cell, the 18" wheels and 15/14 inch slotted rotors (thicker I believe). There could also be nearly 200lbs of weight reduction allowance. Not an allowance we want to get use to.

Another thing I am having difficulty with is the GS class point standings. Multimatic was in 4th place overall, 22 points out of first. One of the z28's is sitting in first with 7 races to go. How does Multimatic proceed? They changed model years and models mid-season. In my opinion, they should NOT be able to capture the Chsmpionship under those circumstances. If this is a true development year, I didn't think they were allowed to alter the outcome. A pole position and a pretty dominant time shatters that theory. So, I'm wondering what kind of impact the GT350 is even allowed to make. Maybe it's not a big deal now that the class has turned more GTS.

Anyway, I think it's fitting. The z28.R's first pole was also at Watkins Glen last year. It took them a 1/2 a dozen races but they did pick up the pace...

With somewhere between a 60 and 100rwhp advantage. It was also allowed to shed 500l s initially. There went factory racing... now they will complain that the GT350 has an output advantage and is allowed too much of a weight allowance.

...whatever...

Last but not least and even more important than the z28... The 500,000 views this thread has attracted. Thank you all for the neverending support on a daily basis. I am glad many of you stuck around to see the topics I discussed come true...

...as I promised, the GT350 will eliminate the z28 from the minds and magazines from here on. No "Your Welcome" letters from Team Camaro, they are shitting whatever they are wrapping their asses in...

The Mustang GT350 is also faster than the Camaro Z28, parked... that exhaust sound is pure sex.

That is actually true. A typical z28 sat on dealer lots for an extended period of time. I remember hearing the "All 500 2014 z28's are Sold Out".

Then we see dozens of brand new 2014's at dealership lots in 2015... Now part of the 25% off sale. Amazing how you can make a completely false statement to mislead thousands of fans, yet never endure any repercussions for it.

Of those 500, many were dealer bought to showcase the car. After the 2015 came out, then dealers were selling them. I would guess on the few 2015 GT350 being sold, most will be dealer bought. I would not be surprised to see some 2015 Gt350 being up for sale next year once the 2016 are out for a bit.

No, pretty sure Al O. was adamant, as well as Monte. All 2014 z28's have found homes.

Let me guess, the dealers bought one, only to sit on it for 18 months, then offer $10,000 off the MSRP?

Oh yeah, it's a big seller... and no, they did not sell all 500 of them.

Maybe when the dealers discovered it was a clown shoe, they sold it for 25% off.

Don't hit that z28!!! It's Sold Out!!!!
