GT350 Track Day Around Chicago

Hey Guys,

Well I've been itching to get the car out again. The people I usually go with aren't going for awhile, but I still like knowing somebody when I go to an event. Is anybody in the Chicagoland area or Great Lakes states going to a track day or autocross anytime in the next couple month. I'm a novice btw.

8/8 - Road America
8/14 - Autobahn, Joliet SCCA
8/14 - Blackhawk Farms
8/17 - Blackhawk Farms
8/23 - Blackhawk Farms
8/27 - Autobahn, Joliet
9/11 - Autobahn, Joliet SCCA
9/26 - Road America

SCCA Milwaukee has an autocross event Aug 21. I will be attending. (Come on up! AS class is pretty thin up here)

Btw, Milwaukee region is pretty much the BEST region in the nation. Because we rock. And have like 6 national champs. And we have beer after the event (not kidding). We're just cool like that.

Thanks for the info guys. I want to try autocross. Seems like cheap fun compared to a track day! I also just heard about a 2-day event September 10-11 with the Porche Club of America at Gratten in Michigan I think I will be attending.

And considerably less risk. Don't discount track days though. I can't wait to finally let 'er rip on the Oval.

If you haven't participated in an autocross event before, I would highly recommend the class that the SCCA conducts, it is called The Learning Curve. There is a lot to learn about the events, running and working the courses, and the 2 days spent in class makes a huge difference. You get 1/2 day in the classroom, 1/2 day on a smaller course and a full day on a large course with instructor guidance the entire time. There is one in the Chicago area every April, I'm not sure what other organizations have this type of class.

I'll be at Autobahn for the second time with my GT350 on August 8th with MVP. It's a good group to run with with excellent instructors for the novice group. I think there might be a few spots left.

Cool! I'll be attending that event as well. My GT350R is scheduled to arrive 2-3 weeks later so unfortunately no Shelby for me on that date. I'll probably drive my M3 or if I feel sporty the GT3. I'm excited to see your Shelby there though as I have not seen one on the track!

Which run group are you in? I'll be in intermediate in a magnetic with black stripes.

Awesome! I'm really excited to see a Shelby on the track. I'll be running in the novice group. I only have 6 track events under my belt. Baby steps!
