GT350 Steering wheel

Just talked to Steve at Tasca. The word is that Ford has is canceling all stock orders nationwide on these wheels. Current listed ETA from Ford is Dec 31 for when normal orders will resume. Of course that's subject to change, but personally I wouldn't put in an order until then.

Well after ~2 months waiting, Tasca tells me today that it is a restricted part that they cannot order at this time. So they went ahead and canceled my order and will be refunding me.

Looks as if I backed the wrong horse on this one and should have gone Levittown from the start. Lesson learned. :tsk:

Personally I think fabric on any parts that your hands touch is gonna be disgusting after a while.

what, do you rub your hands in dirt before you drive? no regular hand washes for you?

alcantara also washes just fine with a damp cloth.

Oh well...changing out my steering wheel is waaaay down on the mod list of things to do, hopefully aftermarket wheel will become available that doesn't break the piggy bank for these cars.

Where did you hear about the Vin policy? Looks like Levis website will still let you pre order for late December delivery. If that's accurate

Yeah I've learned from experience that if you want any oem goodies for any vehicle, the cheapest they will ever be is the moment they are available for purchase. After that the availability plummets and price sky rockets.

Nothing more frustrating for me than buying a used car and realizing that all of the nice oem optional parts are unavailable to purchase new, so the options remaining include a shitty aftermarket attempt, or paying hundreds of dollars for a used piece of abs plastic from some jerk on eBay.

Feels good to finally have a vehicle the moment it came out with the opportunity to snatch up all the oem upgrades at the fair original price. I'm just kicking myself for not ordering more steering wheels.
