Can this be done without disconnecting battery or is battery disconnect a must?

If I disconnect battery does the car and infotainment system lose all the settings?

YES ABSOLUTELY disconnect the battery. and no you will not lose your radio settings. At least you shouldn't. My battery was disconnected for nearly 2 hrs and when I turned her back on everything was as I left it. The only thing that happened was my radio defaulted to being on AM radio when I turned the car on, but no settings changed

I assume that as long as I unlock car, lift bonnet, disconnect battery negative terminal no backup alarm system is going to go off or anything stupid like that to worry about?

P.S. What tools required and a video guide anywhere for wheel removal and refit?

A hex key to release the airbag, 24mm socket, and if i remember correctly a T20 star bit. Maybe a flat head screw driver. You can probably just use your nails to pry the bezel out. The spot on the wheel where the bezel clips to the wheel is angled so that you just peel the bezel off from the outside of the wheel inward. I didn't have to remove the lower bezel off my old wheel, so I don't have any recommendations there.

No back ups, just let it sit for a minute to let any residual electricity dissipate.

Nothing happens, just disconnect negative terminal and set it aside.

those of you installing it yourself, don't do what I did with the 24mm center bolt

It's very deceiving. It's a giant ass bolt but it's only torqued down to 35-40lbs. I took the impact to mine like on the video above. It's on there pretty good but you don't need to tighten it that much

I unfortunately didn't have a torque wrench. So, I had to use the ol' good'n'tight method

I ordered mine from Levittown Ford on January 1st. It shipped on the 13th and arrived this afternoon. I installed it this evening. I really like the look -- one of my most favorite mods ever! The weirdest thing about the whole install was that few minutes when my car had no steering wheel -- very strange.

Looks like you ordered at a good time. They're only getting a certain amount in every so often and it looks like I wont get mine until February. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait though.
