This thing idles at 500? WTF, my EB idles at 750!

What am I missing?

You have 1/2 as many cylinders, so it needs a slightly higher idle to stay smooth, or lots more flywheel to smooth out power pulses. Also, an idle that slow would make it harder to take off from a stop. My MINI Cooper S is a dog off a stop unless you give it extra gas before letting out the clutch.
