I essentially did go from a GT to an Ecoboost. I have a 2006 GT that I supercharged making 478/450 hp/tq to the wheels. Then I bought a 2010 Mustang V6 for my daily 100 mile commute for work. Then when the 15 came out, I bought the EB PP to replace the V6 as my commuter. I absolutely love driving this car, it has plenty of power and gets 30 MPG on the highway. I'm not racing it. The ONLY thing I don't like is the sound.

There's a lot of stupidity going on the forum here with overly paranoid people talking about ecoboosts blowing up. It's so ridiculous I just stopped going to any threads that even sound like it might be that topic, almost didn't come in this 1. I'm not calling anyone a liar but just that people will lie. You never know what someone did to their car that might have contributed to it blowing the engine and they AREN'T going to tell you (in some cases). Every vehicle, not just Mustang Ecoboost within Mustangs, not just Mustangs and not just Fords will have engine failures. The ecoboost in the Mustang was the highest hp/cu produced by Ford in a production vehicle at the time. It's pretty high tech to get to those numbers and yes, it can be sensitive. You just have to be smart about it and handle it appropriately. For the few that have had legitimate failures and they didn't do anything to it, I feel bad for them. For the rest... I won't argue these points either, I've really grown sick of this topic to the point of considering stopping visiting this forum. Instead I just chose to skip over those threads.

You can see in my signature, I've made quite a few suspension mods to my car. Thanks to supporting vendors on this forum and many of you with your knowledge, experience and opinions, my car handles like a DREAM! By far, the best handling car I've ever driven and I'm not young and have had a lot of cars. The Ecoboost is lighter than the GT and has enough power for my spirited driving. I'm not racing anyone on the street so I don't care if it is faster than the car next to me, only that it has enough power for my enjoyment.
R&T had a great review when the EB came out. They basically said it's the American Audi A5. Many people would love to have an A5.

Saw a few other reviews and it was the more balanced feeling car according to them. If they get that 2.7 V6 in there and get it near 375-395 HP then that will be more then sufficient for most buyers looking to have something closer to the S series from Audi.

Ford would never put the 2.7 V6 in the Mustang because it would destroy the GT sales, the only excuses left to get the GT at the point would be the sound or other...

Sure they would. They'd have to get the GT up to 455+ HP or drop the 5.2 in the GT.

If it meant more sales they absolutely would drop the 2.7 in.

And V8 purists would still get the V8 no matter what.

Which would make the cars expectationally more expensive, thus killing the Mustangs sales.

And V8 purists are a small minority. The 2.7 would be a top seller Ford just didn't want to step on the toes of the "current" coyote engine.
