GT 500 cam covers

Yeah i was up in arms whether to go that route or not, this thread couldn’t really help sway me in either direction

Did you go with the 500 stick and tube?

I did the GT500 tube and dipstick. Tube works great but the dipstick was off with the level. I used a different stick and changed the handles.

Do you have a picture of yours by chance? I think Visual appeal would be my leaning point. Can’t sseem to locate what it looks like installed 🫠

Fyi @sox3 made an incredibly helpful video about it, probably the only video on YouTube that clearly show the whole process. He also provided a detailed list of the part numbers required for the GT500 dipstick.

Btw I’d suggest that you replace them vct solenoid while you’re in there

OEM as in GT 500 OEM? This way no drastic curve? I was looking at Tasca and found the OEM GT 500 parts, was just waiting to pull the trigger, because shipping is more than the parts The VCT solenoids……just the two bolts and they lift right out?

Yes only two bolts be careful with them two plastic rubbers it need to be lifted as well there’s a video on Youtube. As of the dipstick, yes its for the GT500, and it is for the GT500 cam covers and don’t forget the oil tube extension.
