Grill delete issues??

I keep considering doing a grill delete to attempt cooler temps. But I worry about extra lift from the added air? Has anyone had issues with hood lift or to much air being trapped? I'd say your good to about 100mph. I'm worried 135 - 160mph range? I know most don't reach these speeds but our car does often, so if anyone else has any input?

On a side note I notice the 350R has very few holes in the middle upper grill, where most of my curisoity comes from.

I think this might be an issue. If you look at the stock grille there is a lot filled in behind the honeycomb and the grille opening isnt as big as it appears. I have to think Ford did that for a reason. Maybe not, but I'd like to know before I change my grille as well.

I wonder about this too. I did the CDC upper on my 13 figured the GT500 has it and should be a non issue. Until someone pointed out that the heat extractor on the GT500 hood is different as well. And was probably designed to keep up with the demand of the open grille.

The GT350 has a different heat extractor like the GT500 did but also as you pointed out doesn't have a fully open grille either. I don't see the small extractors on the GT keeping up with the demand of a full grille delete at those very high speeds. But I am no engineer either lol.

when the hell are any of use going to be driving 160???? unless on a very very open road. if you are going to be cursing at 160, it maybe and issue; however, the times you are compared to the times you are, out weigh each other substantially..

I got no lower grille and the trex upper and had no issues...5k plus like this and speeds all over the place from 0-140

mine seems okay, fully deleted lower and upper. intake temps have dropped considerably.

I am reading a brand new book called "Ford Mustang 2015 The New Generation" by John Clor and available now at Amazon.

In it it says:
The grille provides an inlet for air that cools the engine. However, allowing air to flow through the engine bay instead of directing it around the sides and over the top of the body increases drag.
Each of Mustang's three available engines gets a unique grille that allows in ONLY as much air as the poweplant needs."

So, cutting more holes in the grilleor removing it, where it is blocked will just increase drag. IMHO, I would leave your grille alone as the engineer's designed it.

I mostly only drive my car on track and to and from the track, I've had a few events this year where the hood seems to lift and move a lot and the front end gets light 145-165 range, you're not there long but that's not a fun feeling when your going down a straight away. I just wondered if deleting the grill would create a positive force vs a neutral or negitive force.

I'm more worried about the radiator getting pounded by rocks. Arizona is brutal on the front of the car. My STi's intercooler took a beating from all the small rocks that get thrown up.
