Just wanted to post this as I’ve been very disappointed from my switch to AMG from my Mustang GT. I had a 17 with a Paxton Kit making 650whp with colder plugs, voltage fuel pump booster, on 91 with octane booster vmp tuned. Car had so much potential. Tuning process was so simple. No CEL after the build and the car ran amazing. Sold and bought a C63 amg because I made a solid profit. V8 biturbo engine, threw in intakes, catless downpipes, and 100 octane tune. Barely made 613whp/722 tq. Transmission is the only thing that is better honestly. Tuning process was a nightmare and had 17 misfires and a lot of issues to get to where I am. Genuinely contemplating switching back. Missing my GT. Just thought I’d post. Miss the community. Cheers guys

I have a buddy that is an AMG guy. He had a 2012 CLS AMG63 Rentech tuned, got rid of that and got a 2018 C AMG63 S all wheel drive sedan Rentech as well, but was bored with that and just traded it on an AMG 63 SL Convertible. I can't get him interested in the Mustang's though. When I get my Whipple, RXT Clutch and Corsa's on, His SL is in BIG trouble though.

Ya I’m weistech tuned. Aftermarket support is not as great and costs a lot. I’m already 10k into this car doing all labor myself. No one runs E85 or tunes for it. It’s all 100 octane and meth, which I hate. Would much rather upgrade fuel system and run e85 than meth. Parts are limited. Figured out really quickly why you don’t see many AMG at the track. Best I’ve done is 3.5 0-60 and 7.3 60-130. I have beat a demon, m5, m8, and huracan. But just disappointed . I’ll need meth and turbo upgrades to be any faster. Really appreciating the Mustang rn . All you have to do is pulley down and get some toyo r888 and you’ll gap his amg

When you're ready to throw in the towel, I am sure there will be a Mustang waiting for you. The relative ease of making these things stupid fast and the many different avenues to do it, is really appealing. I know the old argument "everyone's got a Mustang..." That may be true, but there are so many different ways to do them and get them to perform as well or better than cars that cost 2 and 3 times as much, it's very cool and interesting to me.

I could never go with a German. Way too expensive to maintain, before mods. I'm considering selling my 2018 though, as I just never have time to drive it, and I'd like to expand the business. Got to get to the strip one more time first though!

Merc is a much more sophisticated car and I don't think it is really the sort of car you buy to modify. I would suggest that perhaps any American muscle car would have been a better choice from the outset. Maybe a Shelby GT500 KR is the go.

Really wanted to stray from American muscle and have had turbo cars in the past that responded well to minimal mods. Just really surprised at how much work and trouble these cars can be. Might sell and GT500. Car is worth 75k stock. I’ve put a lot into the wrap and other mods. We’ll see. Love the look, drive, and feel of the car. A little disappointed in the numbers. Mustang was really good to me

I suggest you rent a basic sedan and drive only it for a month. After that, see how you feel about the Merc.

Thanks bro! I appreciate it. Wrapped it, had the headlights hand painted and blacked out, and a lot of little details went into it.

Infotainment is about the same. I like the different mapped options that you can easily modify like suspension, transmission mapping and a few other things. The dash and seats are beautiful for sure. Carbon interior and really pretty leather amg seats. Looks like this
