I've spent a lot of time researching before I even bought the car as this is my hobby and I can tell you the direction im going is roughly 4k (or cheaper depending on parts I can find in good cond used) with parts and some labor. Other things I can do on my own. As a high school-going into college student my budget is low as I have more priorities such as rent, food, etc. so my goal really is to make a consistent car that is reliable. The problem with boosted applications is it is just a lot more risk involved especially with the mt-82. That being said an NA application is the way to go for me. This will be a great value gt350 build so to speak. A reliable track-capable street car making a tad more then a stock gt350 for half the price of one.follow this one as my plan is similar. But just to ask why going for N/A when you can supercharge it for less money ?
Agreed, there is some pride in making the 500+ whp NA especially in a gen 2, being that the gen 3 is capable to make 500+ A LOT easier. However, its had more problems due its new build and direct injection not to mention those batches of cars with bad mt-82 shift forks. And there some pride in getting to 500 whp all motor. I'm at 425 whp all motor right now and would like to get to 500 whp at some point in the future. Right now I have a ford racing stage 2 power pack, ford racing sport mufflers, resonator delete/x-pipe, and long tube headers. Next step is the GT350 intake manifold, and then cams. And if that don't get me to 500 wheel, then I'll get an E-85 tune and see if that gets me there.
Thanks man and yeah it will be a challenge im guessing a year and a half or two years haha I dont want to half ass it I would rather have quality parts and it take longer. Also fox body! I eventually want to do one of those or an 09 gt500.Godspeed in your journey! To be a high school student going to college and aiming for 500 wheel na in a new mustang is a big goal! When I was your age I made a 500 wheel with hand me down parts and a given up fox body project and had to hustle my butt off to make it work reliable haha. The amount of money I dumped into it I should have invested in real estate or stocks but I proved a point! Then I sold it
Great photo. Did you dyno your car stock ? So you know where you are going from as I dyno mine and it's 395 BHP. Keep us posted on the build when you start adding power. Also are you thinking of some Suspension mods ? I'm thinking of adding Steeda Stop The Hop and FP Track Handling pack to my suspension.Crappy Iphone photo but update on the car. Appearance mods done (except spoiler) now on to short shifter and power mods.
