Got the boot on Camaro5

So, after five years of being a member over there, I was banned from the site with the following reason, "your trolling days are over". It's funny that a "troll" could be a participant for that long yet when I called that myopic idiot SEVEN-OH-JOE (aka LOWDOWN) out on a few of his more childish posts, that was it. I'm sure he cried a river to one of the admins and that led to my demise. I don't think I've ever met anyone someone who so GM-centric that NO other car company, in his mind, is capable of building a better product at any time than GM.

In any case, as my husband and I have owned a lot of different performance cars through the last 15 years and next on our list is a GT350, I thought I'd finally join the site rather than just visiting in the background.

Welcome to the Camaro5 exile club.

I got the boot there years ago for "Not showing proper enthusiasm for the GM product"....they "welcome discussion" only when they decide. I've seen Camaro owners get cut from there for not lock-stepping in formation with the GM corporate line.

It's an open secret that place is a GM corporate front. I've seen many posts disappeared from there when a GM goon (FenwickHockey, Number3 and a few others) were proven wrong about something.

My first "temporary" ban was when there was a lot of smack talk in the VS. section about Challenger R/T's vs L99 Camaros. Fenwick and a few others jumped in saying it was a "low 14 second car" and "wasn't a match for a L99 Camaro, heck a V6 Camaro can take it"..then I posted a 13.266 @ 104.87 time slip of mine from my 2010 R/T auto with just a K&N CAI, no tune on stock tires in 1,750 foot DA.

And got put on a 2 week "suspension" for trolling.

I just saw where it looks like "LOWDOWN" has been reinstated over on that other site. Too bad they'll never offer you the same latitude.

Yeah, my brother-in-law told me all about it. The funny thing is, even though he's owned several Camaro's in the past and most recently a ZL1 and a z/28, he got a PM from one of the mods on that site basically telling him to avoid interaction with lowdown or he would be banned. To my knowledge, I can't recall him ever getting into any verbal altercations with that guy online, so we're wondering why he got singled out. Probably because he posted the question in the haus of zzzzzz asking if I would also be reinstated.:lol:

Even if they did, I'd never participate on that site again anyway.

LOL Crazy. I was banned for being a Mustang Troll. The kicker is I actually did own a 2011 L99 2SS/RS. I just couldn't bring myself to the level of fanboyism that was required. My wife still goes in from time to time. Seams the sixth Gen Camaro and the GT350 coming out has taken a lot of wind out of their sails!

The really funny thing is, my husband, brother-in-law and I have attended 3 of the CamaroFest events in the past and have gotten along well with almost everyone we met. It was only a couple of people who even knew who "tooslow" was when I told them my screen name and even then, they just laughed and we moved on.

It seems to me the real issue over there is a couple of the power-mad moderators who feel they have to shut down any negative commentary regarding the Camaro.

Your exactly right. We were members of the south jersey Camaro club and everyone was awesome in person! I got so sick of hearing about the ring times over on camaro5 because that's all they ever wanted to talk about. And it wasn't like the regular SS and V6 Camaros even handle all that well! As a life long drag racer I could care less how fast anything goes around a track clear across the world. But got a PM from a mod once asking me to be a team player and quit reminding everyone that a Mustang would win a drag race. LOL:lol:
