Whose Jag is that? Classic.
I bought that a little over a year ago for only $2500. It's an XJ6 with only 60k miles and looks/runs/drives like brand new. It's amazing how much those things cost new (this one was $58k) but they just don't hold their value for crap. It's going to be my 'winter beater' so the GT can stay winters in the garage.

Did I mention that I'm a picture posting whore? :D

I edited my post above but you may have missed my questions.

I really like your wheels, did you go square sizes all around? What stock wheels came on your GT?
My oem wheels were 18" as I got a base GT.

I bought 255/40/19 Sumitomo ZTRIII tires for my daily wheels which are 19"

Looks great! I like the wheels.

Mine should be here in a couple weeks. Sometimes I wish I could just leave it bone stock...but I know better...

'97 and older Jags just don't hold their value. The 94-97 XJ6 models are super reliable though.

Examples in this shape usually go for ~$4k, but the seller only wanted $3300 and accepted $2500. I was pleased!

Question to all of those who have traded their Ecoboost for a GT; did any of you (some...most...all?) lose money on your trade in? And on average, how much did your monthly payment increase? Maybe for some it didn't increase at all...or by a signifiicant amount. I have a 15 EB Premium (black), Performance Package and automatic transmission. I financed 30K on Ford's Zero for Seventy-Two Month promotion in late July. The car isn't my daily driver (only 723 miles on it so far); the local Ford dealer here (with whom I couldn't make a deal with on the EB in July) has a 15 GT (RR, auto, 19" dark stainless wheels, enhanced security package, 3.55's, spare tire, spoiler delete and navigation) which he will sell me for 38K Out-The-Door. I can finance through a local credit union for 2.29% for 72 months. My key question to the collective wisdom on this forum (especially those who have had an ecoboost and traded/sold it for a GT), is the GT really worth the 8K price difference ($9700 when financing charges for 72 months are factored in, considering I won't be able to finance the GT at 0% APR for 72 months) over the Ecoboost? Ultimately, I know only I can make this decision for myself, but I would appreciate the input/opinions/wisdom of the forum on this question. Thanks in advance for your input.

I lost money on trading my EB for my GT. I knew i would before i ever stepped into the stealership. I ended up getting 0% for 72 months from Ford. $1000 cash back from ford and $1000 private offer from Ford that the dealership had and filled it out for me. After the honey moon ended with the EB for me i just wasn't happy with it. The main reason was i hated the way the exhaust note sounded. Mine was 15' premium OW with PP, auto, reverse sensors and enhanced security with only 4300 miles. The suspension was really too bouncy for me with the PP. My GT rides much smoother.

I am still happy i traded it and haven't had a second thought about it. I am going to keep the GT for a very long time so what ever money i lost in trading doesn't really matter because i'm keeping it for at least 10 years maybe longer. I am waiting for my Corsa exhaust to arrive this week and it will sound sweet. My insurance went up some but not a whole lot. Good luck to what ever you choose.

I haven't done that trade, but I'm planning to trade my GT for a GT350. The depreciation is steep for the first couple years, so yes you will "lose" money on the trade in. The dealer is going to want to make money on the trade and there needs to be an incentive (lower price) to people who are deciding whether to buy your used car versus a new one. On the bright side, your car has low miles so that will help you.

I would say the decision is mostly a financial one for you. Can you afford it and do you want to afford it. I think the GT is a lot of car and it's very fun to drive. I took my base GT to the track and it really wakes up on the track - very fast and a lot of car for the money IMO. It's also very smooth on the road. There's a fair amount of body movement due to the compliant suspension, but I don't find it unpleasant - even at the track I think it's very controllable.

dhardison, did your car insurance go up? I'm curious since I'm getting my Ecoboost replaced with a GT in a month or two.
Yes, but only a $10/month increase. Of course I'm a 48 year old fart with no tickets/accidents on my insurance either. YMMV.......

As far as losing $$ on the EB=>GT trade, yes of course. :) I owned my EB for 5 months, it only had 4200 miles on it and it was in perfect shape (well except some missing rubber on the rear tires :p). I was given a generous trade amount and I paid only $250 over invoice for the GT. In the end I was only $1750 in the hole and the rebates/incentives covered that, so out of pocket was a wash. The payment for the GT went up, but minimally.

I would HIGHLY suggest the EB=>GT trade. As much as I enjoyed the EB, the GT is that much better. The immediate power and the sound of that V8 is worth every penny. I do not regret trading one bit.

Insurance up $8 a month and payment $52 up a month...worth it for the GT. Have not missed my fully bolt on turbo once yet :). People ask if I regret doing the turbo first and I say no...it was fun for the 9 months, fun to build and cool to experience a turbo mustang. But now I know why everyone in my whole life has always said "A mustang needs a V8"
