good datalog laptop

I'm using a x4 sct and tuned by lund switching over to flex fuel tune so i need to datalog , only issue is i have a macbook and can't use it with my sct x4, so i was going to buy another windows laptop strictly for datalogging. are there any requirements of what it has to have to be able to datalog? some help with what you guys are using would be great! i am totally lost on this one don't want to buy one and it not work (in the past i have not been able to get the livelink to work on some laptops even though they are windows)

any help would be greatly appreciated!
